What material is this picnic blanket made of?

Mine did not come with any tags indicating which I believe is illegal. It feels like cotton but with a slight waxy texture so I believe it is a cotton and polyester blend.

Has anyone actually washed this picnic blanket? How is the result?

I washed one that ended up getting a couple stains and it did not come off. My stain remover gets stains out of all my other items I wash at home.
