Easy to start and burns clean. i live in alabama in a very humid area, and I must admit that these little things work. Especially when you stretch them out and get the fine fibers exposed.

These work great when we’re in a pinch starting a fire in our wood burner. Extremely easy to use and anyone can start a fire using this!

I've tried a lot of different fire starters and fire plugs, and these are the best plugs I've found. They are easy to work with <some other plugs are hard as rocks>, they put out a decently high flame, are easy to ignite with a spark, and last plenty long enough to get a fire started.

I have used noodles of tender. I have yet to find anything better as a fire plug and starter so I stick with The captain!!

These work fantastically. Twist it in half, throw some spark on it and up it goes. Gives you plenty of time to get tinder burning.

Blackbeard fire plugs are a necessity for any fire kit! 50 1.25" x .75" plugs are packed into this small easy to pack bag. 1 plug weights next to nothing; the bag is very light. I didn't follow the directions, I just ripped off roughly a quarter, stretched it out, and with one strick with my ferro rod it lite up instantly. That little amount burned intense for 2 minutes; I actually has to smuther it because it wouldn't go out. Great quality and excellent performance!! Absolutely worth the money. Not many things suprise me but these did. I recommend these to any prepper, outdoor enthusiast, or if you want to light your fire place.

These stay lit for a few minutes as advertised and make a big difference in ignition. They’re so easy to use and can be cut in half to last longer. I’m very impressed with this product.

I lit one by itself and just let it burn to see how long it would stay lit and how big of a flame you get from it. I can say on a windy day I was able to get a good 5 Minutes out of it and I accidentally put it out it probably would ha e went longer. And the size of flame was perfect and would work great to build a fire with. All in all I highly recommend and am happy with my purchase [Update] It is a little hard to light it though because the wax on it is so thick you need to melt it back a bit to light it but once lit your good to go.
