Powerful, Reliable, and Worth It — XR Makes a Difference
This is an excellent impact wrench and easily one of my most-used tools. This is the XR version, not just a standard 20V MAX, and you can definitely feel the difference in power, torque, and overall performance. It has no problem breaking loose stubborn bolts and handles heavier-duty work without hesitation. The tool feels solid and well balanced, even with extended use, and the build quality is exactly what you expect from DeWalt. Battery life has been great, especially when paired with XR batteries, and the tool delivers consistent power without bogging down. If you’re deciding between a regular 20V MAX and the XR line, this one is absolutely worth it. Reliable, powerful, and built to last — highly recommended for both DIY and professional use.

Dewalt for the win!
Bought a different name brand thinking I could take the lugs off my truck but it wouldn’t budge them. I went with this one because the foot pounds of torque were super high. I am not disappointed! It zips the lugs off like they’re nothing. Dewalt for the win!

Hits hard
This impact wrench hits hard and will run on a 2aph battery long enough to change a few sets of tires.

A bit top heavy but get's the job done
I've been working on cars for a few decades now and own many Air Tools. Generally Air Tools are lighter and smaller than their battery powered counterparts which make them easier to handle and helps with getting in tight spots. But the air hose can be hindrance at times. Comparing the specs on my 1/2" IR Air Impact Gun against the Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench the latter seems to have the upper hand. 2135QTi Impacts per min: 1,250 Torque range: Forward ft•lb (N•m) 50-550 [600 Max.] (68-746 [813 Max.]) Reverse ft•lb (N•m) 650 [700 Max.] (881 [949 Max.]) Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench: Impact at a rate of 2200 IPM Max. fastening torque: Low mode: 100 ft-lbs, 135 Nm Medium mode: 600 ft-lbs, 813 Nm High mode: 1030 ft-lbs, 1396 Nm Max. breakaway torque 1400 ft-lbs, 1898 Nm Watching a video on YouTube for the Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench the ratings may be slightly inflated but were nevertheless impressive. So far I've only used the tool for loosening wheel lug bolts torqued to 90 ft/lbs on my car for tire changes and the Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench handled that easily enough on setting of 1 when paired with a DCB206 20v MAX 6ah Battery. The Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench is bigger and heavier which may come into play when I try to do some work on suspension and steering bolts where are notoriously difficult to remove and access can be tight. While it is sorta cumbersome, the Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench had no issues standing up on it's own when being set down. Also it operated very smoothly and I barely noticed the impacting when in use. I purchased the Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench for when Winter comes and the cold weather makes my Air Compressor difficult to start. Instead of heating up the Garage to get the compressor warm enough to start, I can get right to work. Saving time. I also won't have to deal w/stiff rubber air hoses when moving around the car. I'm sure I'll find uses for the Dewalt DCF900 Cordless Impact Wrench during the warmer months when I encounter something my 1/2" Air Impact Gun won't budge. Since I already had both a Dewalt DCB206 20v MAX 6ah Battery and DCB204 20v MAX 4ah Battery I didn't need the whole kit, so this item fit the bill in getting the cost down. I've own many Dewalt tools in the past and am sure this one will be a welcomed addition to my Tool box. I knocked off a star cause it is a bit heavy and the only complaint I have is the location of the button to change directions. When wearing heavy work gloves and picking up and/or operating the Tool it's too easy to hit that button and change the direction from forward to reverse or vice versa. I've never enountered that before w/other Battery powered tools from Dewalt.

High quality.
Built very well. Heavy weight gun. No issues with it. Very powerful. I like the speed settings so you don't snap off the bolt on install. If you don't have strong arms then stay away from this as it weighs a little more than others.

I think you could jack up a house with this thing!
I have a 3 foot breaker bar that I used to change the wheels on my Bentley GTC. That thing is torqued at about 110 ft lbs. Still takes a bit of effort to do it by hand, and you need to have the car sitting on the ground, not in the air with the wheel loose when you're trying to take it off manually. If you don't, the wheel will just turn. I'm not weak by any means, but using the breaker bar as opposed to this thing is a night and day difference. I bought this DeWalt, and I'm able to pull the wheels off in seconds, with the wheel in the air, and it doesn't budge. This thing has so much torque, it feels like you could pull a house off its foundation with it. They aren't cheap, but they are incredibly effective. I set it for 100 ft lbs to put the wheel back on, and then I just go over it with a torque wrench to bring it up to 110. It's a matter of seconds. The only thing you need to ensure is that you've got the lug nuts screwed in a few threads before you start on this, otherwise you'll destroy it if you cross-thread it. And you could probably cross thread it all the way down to 500 ft lbs of torque... I love this tool! Make sure you get at least a five amp battery pack for it.
