Q: i need to use this for a picture. what is the maximum width that can be used on this?

You can refer to the second and fourth pictures to get the specific size. If the tray is not wide enough for your picture, I kindly recommend another easel, its tray is 2" (50 mm) thick, which might meet your needs. Q: How low and high from the ground can i adjust the bottom resting piece (above tray) where my canvas sits? (for sitting & standing) can i raise it?

The height of the upper tray (where the canvas sits) can be adjusted from 20" (510 mm) to 47 1/5" (1200 mm) high. You can easily adjust the height of the tray by using the metal ratchet under it.
