A truly amazing cd, strong collection of tunes well written and arranged. Haunting songs like "The Traveller" and the title track, to fun jazzy tunes like Record Co. Bash and Shadows & Light. And Tourist Attraction is a blast. Deburgh is a gifted artist flying under American radar

Chris de Burgh - Eastern Wind Review
I have to agree with the sentiments of other reviewers here that this is far from his best album and a bit uneven in quality. Some tracks like the Record Company Bash don't seem to fit in with the mood of the rest of the album but having said that the album grows on you over time. It took a few listens to appreciate it. The album does have a "stripped down" non orchestral feel to it - for me the stand out tracks The Traveller & Eastern Wind

Eastern wind! why?
for ten years or more this album ( chrom cassette )has graced my car stero. The beuaty and the soul swelling fear that "The Traveler" instills and the resolve and spirit that is invoked by "Eastern Wind" have carried me through many a stormey night on the highway. Forget his trash pop ending and get back to the storytelling for C de B can tell a story with a passion reserved for young lovers.

CdeB Classic
His absolute best, without a doubt; classic cuts like the opener, "The Traveller" with its hauntingly dramatic lyrics, and the title cut, "Eastern Wind" make a very lasting, unforgettable impression from the very first listen; "Record Company Bash" provides wry, sarcastic, comic relief.

Okay, but not one of Chris DeBurgh's best albums.
This album is not one of Chris DeBurgh's greatest albums. If you are not already a diehard Chris DeBurgh fan, try one of his other albums first. A couple of the songs are pretty good including "Shadows and Lights" and "Eastern Wind". Most of the rest of the songs are so-so, though I do not like "The Record Company Bash" at all.

Eastern Wind
Leider !

All Change
Yet another LP replacement, in the 70's and 80's until 94 I bought all his albums as they were released, and non disappointed me. This album was a little different to his earlier releases, while the songs are still short stories, the content is more modern. Songs like "The Record Company Bash" "Wall of Silence" "Shadows and Lights" "Flying Home" and "Tourist Attraction" are quality offerings unlike his previous songs. "Eastern Wind" and "Sailor" was more in the style I was used to and "Tonight" and "Some Things Never Change" give us the romantic songs he became best know for. This was his first release of the 80's and for me only bettered by his 1984 album "Man on the Line".
