I’ve only had this a couple hours, but it’s a surprisingly good bargain. It’s a nice, solid keyboard case for significantly less than you’d find in most stores. As some people have noted, it’s pretty heavy (I weighed it and the iPad Pro together and it came out to about 2.2 lbs, which is more keyboard than iPad), but what most of them don’t seem to consider is that it HAS TO BE HEAVY. Since this case uses an adjustable hinge instead of a kickstand (which is one of the main reasons I bought it) it needs to be heavy enough to counterbalance the weight of the iPad, so you end up with a fairly heavy keyboard.The big positive here is that it is far easier to use on your lap than most keyboard cases with a kickstand (I’m doing it right now while typing this review). As for the weight: well, it’s a bit heavier than one of those tiny new MacBooks. But those MacBooks don’t have a touch screen that you can pop out and use separately. Another side effect is that the case feels pretty beefy, so much so that I’d feel just fine about tossing the whole thing in a backpack.I’ve read complaints about the screen getting scratched due to junk getting on the keyboard and rubbing the screen when closed. I figure I’ll just be sure to keep the thing clean.As for typing? It’s pretty nice. It feels a lot better to me than the Smart Keyboard, and I haven’t had any issues with the Bluetooth connection. It’d be nice not to have to worry about a separate battery, but not worth spending $100 more and dealing with a floppy case. It’s a bit cramped, but that’s to be expected with an iPad keyboard. The “Lock” button is annoyingly close to the “delete” button, so I’ve already accidentally locked the iPad a few times when I meant to do a few backspaces. Fortunately an iPad wakes up almost instantly, so it’s not a dealbreaker. I’m hoping I’ll just get good at not hitting the lock key, but I’m knocking off a star for putting the key in such an inconvenient place. The other function keys are awesome though, and really speed up my workflow.Overall I’d definitely recommend this case. For comparison: I’d give the Smart Keyboard a 3/5 and the Logitech “Slim” keyboard a 2/5 (it isn’t even close to slim). It’s not perfect, but it’s damned good (and fantastic for the money).

This is my 3rd iPad. Had the iPad 3, Air 2, and now Pro 10.5. Two things I do when purchasing a new iPad. Buy a glass screen protector, then buy a Zagg Slim Book keyboard. I had 3 Zagg keyboards for my Air 2. They are extremely nice, but hated the fact that hinge would break or magnitics would come off... causing me to return for replacement. Zagg has great customer service, but after awhile they would stop sending me replacements. Decided to buy this keyboard (writing on it for this review) due to the lower price, has lighted keyboard, and hinge. This would receive a 5 star review if it had two features that Zagg Slim Book offered.1. Detachable iPad from keyboard (use as a iPad)2. Polished steel keyboard (looked like Mac Air)Overall only had this for a day and enjoying it, but feels like something I would get of Alibaba for $25 from the Chinese market. Only time well tell if this is worth the investment. Is about half the price.

While the battery life has been solid and the case offers good protection for my ipad, there are a few drawbacks here:1) The spacebar on the keypad seems to only work if you deliberately hit it and is not conducive for quick typing. This leads to a lot of autocorrecting and a careful review of what is written2) The right hand side shift button is particularly small, especially when compared to other cases and takes time getting used to.

Hinge broke within a month!!!

The hinge broke in 10 months.

The iPad screen holder hinge became more and more loose. Eventually would not stay upright thus defeating purpose. Return was easy.

Keyboard is exactly what I had hoped. I am much more productive using it.
