Energizer XP1000 Universal Rechargeable Power Pack with 1000 mAh Black (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I purchased one of these after comparing it in a retail store to other portable charging options. The size (about 4-5 stacked credit cards) is a great feature. The cord and tips combined with the item are small, making it ideal for travel. It charges enough, as noted in other reviews, to get you by when your phone power runs low. The USB connection allows for charging both my phone and this item through my laptop.Update: As with many others who have reviewed this item, the connection breaks easily. It is a nice idea, this brand is too flimsy. I don't plan on buying another, might try Duracell. Their item reviews don't seem to mention this connector issue.I lowered my rating to one star. It breaks so easy it isn't worth the money.

This is very lightweight and slips into your purse, pocket or briefcase. What is great is that the company will ship tips for your device and all you pay is the shipping.This has been a great gift to college students going off to college and it was a big hit as stocking stuffers for moms, dads, road warriors and anyone who finds themselves screaming when they find their phone readlining or DOA.It's a nice quality device, will charge a smartphone to 1 full charge.

Ok, maybe not. You'll have to recharge eventually but this power pack is a good idea for those on the road, especially abroad. Foreign and new surroundings doesn't equate to an accessible power outlet. Rest assured you have this in your satchel (or travel bag) whenever that iPhone (or Android) needs a boost. Use it for phones, mp3 players or other small electronic devices. Included are a few adapters.**Fully charged but have yet to field test this.

I wanted something I could take on a trip to use in case of emergency and recharge my cell phone. When the first one arrived (it was supposed to be charged and ready to use out of the box), it didn't have any charge and wouldn't charge in the 24 hours in was plugged in. So, I returned it and ordered another. This one came charged, but after plugging my phone in, it charged only charged to 12% in 12 hours and then it was exhausted. Needless to say, I've returned the second one and am very disappointed.

I just received this a couple of days ago and have tried it twice with my Motorola Droid, just to gauge the performance.First time using it, after the initial 8 hour charge, then plugged it in to my phone which had a 15% charge. After half an hour of charging, the phone was at 40%, and after an hour it was at 60%. Shortly after, it stopped charging - did not exceed 60% charge.Second time using it, after charging it full again (which took approx 2 hours I'd estimate), I started at 50%, after a little over an hour I looked at my phone and it was at 90% and had stopped charging.So it looks like, for my phone (Motorola Droid, 1390mah battery), it's good for about a 40-50% charge. Seems worth it to me. The compact size is very nice. My only other concern is that the MicroUSB tip provided does not fit well - it's functional but something's not right.

This power pack is long lasting and slim in size, like a credit card, which is very convenient. Other chargers required double A batteries, they were bulky and only lasted 4 hrs. This one lasts as long as 8. One of the things I like is the red/green light indicator and the button I press to check how much charge I have left.

Purchased this item as a back-up power source to use while traveling. I'm an avid fan of using my smartphone with GPS for tracking of my trips. This as well as checking email, etc. can drain the built-in battery during a 10 - 12 hr. day of touring and sightseeing. The Energizer Energi To Go worked perfectly to give me the additional back-up power needed. I debated over which size to purchase. I decided to try the XP1000 which worked well for my purposes. The extremely small size make it easy to carry and the weight is almost non-existent.I got a 50% recharge in about 30 minutes while the phone was in use. With the phone turned off the charge was much faster - between 10-15 minutes. I'm sure the larger capacity units would re-charge much faster as well if needed. Recharging the unit is easy and relatively quick. I always try to charge devices overnight so I can only estimate that it takes between 1 and 2 hrs. for a complete charge.The only negative I can report is the micro USB connection for my phone. Due to the shape of the tip it doesn't seat completely into the phone connector. I had to place the phone/Energi To Go combination in a non-moving position to ensure connection. I'll have to contact Xpal (maker of the unit) to see if a different tip is available for my Samsung Captivate.All in all an A+ product that met my needs. Worked exactly as designed and promoted. Great value for the price and love the free for life tip offer. Would be 5-star if not for the tip connection issue.

Do not expect complete recharge capability for your portable electronic device from this product! This device is OK for short duration charging. It provides enough of a recharge when away from conventional sources. It does this well enough and the price is fair for that!

Worked great at first, easy to use and was able to charge my phone up from almost dead to 100% battery. Obviously, the nature of the product is NOT that you use it constantly, but that you keep it nearby for emergencies. Unfortunately, after about 20-30 full charges over the space of a few years, it now charges my phone up by about 10% then dies. If it's not reliable, then it's utterly pointless and this is no longer in any way reliable. Don't waste your money.

second purchase of this item, I accidently left my other one on holiday.....very handy as it contains all the attachments I need
