Whirlpool74004105 Genuine OEM Bake Element for Ranges

It is an easy fix with a Phillips head screwdriver. The existing wire for the left side on my stove seemed a bit short and pulled back in to the range. I pulled the range out and popped out 4/5 screws from the back panel and it made install a breeze. Be sure to unplug or turn off the breaker before you work on it. Now is a good time to clean out behind the stove anyway

I liked the relative ease of installation. I looked carefully at the replacement part, and saw that it was designed to be attached to two female leads. So I unscrewed the existing heating element (save the screws, the replacement unit I got did not include screws). I carefully tugged at each side to get to the leads connecting the heating element. They were obscured by insulation, and I could see if I had not been careful here that it would have been very difficult to retrieve those connectors if they slid back into the body/insulation of the stove. After making sure the leads would not pull back into the stove, I attached the new heating element, and screwed it back in. That was it. Total time was about 5 minutes. I turned the oven on to verify that the new element worked correctly, and it did. It did give off a smell for a few minutes after it got heated up, but nothing really obnoxious.

It works well. The first cycle was to clean and it did an excellent job. I had to remove the back of the range to fish out the connector. It was easy after that.

Our upper oven heating element failed, it cracked and caught fire. Luckily we were able to shut it off immediately. We purchased this for our Maytag Gemini oven and it worked perfectly. Fast delivery, easy to install and we saved a bundle by avoiding a service call:)

Works like new

Always, ALWAYS disconnect any electrical appliance from a source of energy before you attempt to repair it. Nuff said. This element is exactly as described, functions well. I ordered this top element for my stove and installed it with some modifications. It fits a standard oven, my stove has two ovens and the upper element is shaped different in the two oven stove. I modified the mount and it works great. If you have a double oven you need to look for the correct part. This problem was enterely my fault, but I made it work. Great service from the vender and amazon.

Perfect fit; easy to install. Make sure you don’t allow the wire connections to slip through to the back of the oven, or you’re going to have to remove the rear cover to retrieve them.

Came much quicker than expected and we had the oven working again with half an hour.
