Highly recommended for Venus observers.
A good study of a unique phenomenon: the first volume devoted to the mysterious visibility of the unilluminated portion of the crescent Venus. It is an illusive observation first made in 1643, and has defied explanation.I saw the Ashen Light only once, in 1985, and it was no illusion. Its appearance was a reddish illumination of the dark portion and a clearly delineated limb, resembling Earthshine on the Moon.I have only just started reading this book and will update when I complete it.The book itself is high quality paper and includes both color anc black and white illustrations.
