Made of plastic
I did not expect this to be plastic. Seems it would be sturdier to hold the weight of 44 knives! Still, it is a gift and I hope they will not think less of the gift.

Storage case with separators
If you are going to buy this brand of case buy the pro case for just a couple dollars more. The pro case has dividers that helps keep your knives more secure and protects them from getting scratched. The case has a nice carry handle and double zip closure. Holds lot of knives securely but since the elastic is a uniform size, it does not hold every knife perfectly since shapes and sizes of knives are different. This is not a case where you could stack a ton of weight on it as it may crack or break. The plastic case is covered in a type of fabric that can be wiped down with a cloth if it gets dirty or dusty. For me this is more of a storage case and not a display case. If you need to transport your knives often, this may not be the case for you either unless you want to hold the case flat instead of by the handle since the knives could pop out of the elastic with a lot of movement. This is a good case for storage and to keep a collection in one place free of dirt and dust.

Nice knife case
Great case for holding all my pocket knives. Being a small collector I've got many pocket knives and this binder is just as good as my high dollar binders. It's sturdy with alot of holding spots with strong bands. Easy to carry and you can put an Airtag and lock on the zipper to really secure your collection.

Good storage
This is great to keep my small but growing collection of pocket knives safe and clean and all in one spot. As long as the knives are small. They're held in place with small elastic loops. Long knives can be held by more than one loop, but if they're fatter than the loop can hold, then they're out of luck. Any knives that come with a case have to come out of the case to fit. Or I just put the whole case inside and zip it up loose. It works for now because I don't have too many in there. I don't know what I'll do when it starts filling up more, though. Overall it's not too bad and I'm glad to have it. I have a bunch of very small ones and am glad to have a place to keep those. I'd recommend it for a collector.

Nice case. May not fit THAT many knives.
I like this case. It's reasonably priced, and the construction seems to be of a very good quality. But, unless you have a collection of miniature knives, there's no way you can fit 44 knives in there. At least not keeping them in any type of good order. I have some folding knives, and I could not reasonably fit three in each column of elastic bands. Two, for sure; using the top and bottom sets. That works for me, for the moment. Your collection will most certainly be different than mine, so you may be able to store a larger number of your prized blades.
