Many glasses of this sort are very thin and consequently fragile. While these are not "coke bottle" thick (designed to hold up to repeated use in a vending machine) they are thicker than the typical wine glass. Not so much that they're heavy/clunky like a beer glass, but enough that they're not going to break if you tap them with a spoon either.My set has been visually inspected only, no actual use yet, but I believe they'll hold up well to normal handling and the occasional minor mishap compared to the typical glass. I had two sets previously (different make/model) which through attrition, lasted me several years, but I finally broke the last one in the past year. I believe these will fare better.

This is a solid and serious decanter set. I will admit part of the charm was a resemblance to the decanter in the TV series "Lucifer", but the set does stand on its own merits. Looks great and nicely fitted, pours well and everything feels good in the hand. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 is that the glasses are a little too thick and heavy. It's a close call but they are just a tad too chunky at the top and perhaps just a little oversized. That having been said, I really love my set (I'm enjoying an after work tipple from it right now). Really good value and a stylish and enjoyable addition to the home.

I bought them for gifts and had names placed on them. Definitely a great gift idea.
