"Change your Brain Change your life Before 25" is brilliant and didn't get published any too soon
"Change your Brain Change your life Before 25" is brilliant and didn't get published any too soon. I think Dr. Payne has done an amazing job in writing and publish this book on a subject that has been ignored in our society way too long ............Brain Health. His professionalism and expertise as an educator really shine with his explanation and interpretation of material from Dr Daniel Amen's book "Change Your Brain Change Your Life". Dr. Payne made the subject matter very understandable, interesting and entertaining to a layman like me!. Including the stories from his personal background growing up and stories of other individuals throughout the book made the information so believable and showed his sense of compassion. To me knowledge of what impacts the health of our brains and bodies would be undeniable for anyone after reading this book. No matter if you're "Before 25" or "After 25" this book is a "Plan of Prevention" for all people to learn how to keep their brains healthy and be able thrive and reach their maximum potential. My opinion is the material in this book should be presented to every student in every school in this country and even around the world .PLUS it needs to be presented to every adult that interacts with children, adolescents and adults in every venue.......parents, teachers, church leaders, physicians, mental health care professionals, nutritionists, physical therapists, exercise science professionals, politicians of all kinds (and many more). Thank you Dr.Jesse Payne. Excellent book. You go to the head of the class (and you deserve a raise ) :o)

Every parent must read!
For parents that are battling with children with behavior issues, it would be beneficial to read or listen. Although, directed toward youths, it is very insightful on the way the brain works and how to understand youths' behavior. It is not their fault they behave that way. And, understanding particularly how your child, teenager or young adult's brain works, will help lighten up some of the stress and frustration. Plus, provide an action plan to address it in a holistic manner. But, I recommend also the teenager and young adult to read this to understand and learn about themselves, becoming more conscious of their behaviors and allowing there physiology to develop to the best of their ability.

One of the best books I've ever read.
I bought this book for my teenage son who is struggling, but I ended up reading it. Given the topic I was surprised at how enjoyable and easy it was to read. Filled with personal stories told in a simple powerful way. I have gained an appreciation and understanding of how the brain works in different people and how that impacts the way we interact. The way we feel and how we handle different situations. Clear and understandable. This is geared to teenagers and young adults, but I as a 50 year old woman feel incredibly benefited from having read it. The insights I have gained into why I think and react the way I do has been invaluable. It's made see other people and their behaviors in a whole new light. The other thing I appreciated about this book is that there are no sales pitches in here. Other books of a similar nature seem geared to sell someone's particular program or line of expensive specialty supplements. There is none of that in here.

The Only Textbook I'll ever Re-Read!
Professor Payne is actually a teacher at my college, but this doesn't influence my review at all. This is honestly one of the best books that I have ever read. I love psychology, and have always found the brain incredibly interesting. I was a bit wary about reading this book, but when I started, I found I didn't want to stop. It was hard to make myself pause and take notes, when all I wanted to do was continue to read. This is the only "textbook" that I have ever found that I actually WANT to read, and one that I have continued to read despite the class being over. The knowledge in this book is immense, although you would never guess it just by looking. It's taught me numerous things about the brain, and contains facts that I've shared with family and friends and has changed their view of the brain and themselves. The visuals are incredibly helpful, and the humor throughout the book kept my attention and was helpful as well. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It's not only for college students, but upper high school students and adults. Any age would enjoy this book.

Offers tangible, sustainable HOPE
The bad news? All of us have brain struggles (sorry, no exceptions). The good news? This brand-new book offers tangible, sustainable HOPE to students, parents, educators, therapists and others.Author Dr. Jesse Payne says it best: "One of the most exciting aspects of learning about the brain is the realization that we have the power to make a change. Knowing what we know empowers us to improve our brains so that we can optimize our potential and minimize our struggles" (page 78).NYT best-selling author Dr. Daniel Amen concurs: "With a healthier brain, you are happier, physically healthier, wealthier and more successful, because you make better overall decisions. When your brain is not healthy, for whatever reason, you are sadder, sicker, poorer, less wise and less successful, because the organ that makes your decisions and runs your life is not working at its best" (from the Foreword).

I would recommend this book to everyone of any age as you ...
As a current 19 year old college student this book has definitely given me a new perspective and has given me the opportunity to change my brain and my life. Having taken Child & Adolescent Development and Psychology of Education from Dr. Payne, this book has definitely given me an insight into the brain and will open your eyes to the struggles and needs of those around you and has helped me significantly in my training to become an elementary education educator. I would recommend this book to everyone of any age as you can learn immensely from this book whether you are under 25 or over. This book gives you the opportunity to know more about the ones you love and helps you identify the struggles in your life and how you can help those around you who are struggling.
