BOSCH GSR12V-140FCB22 12V Max Drill/Driver with 5-In-1 FlexiClick System and (2) 2.0 Ah Batteries

This drill set is the perfect tool. The 90° and off-set heads come in handy drilling holes and driving screws where space/clearance is tight. The 12V battery is adequate for building cabinets and basic work around the house where the compact size is nice.

An amateur handyman & carpenter, I've used countless drills over 5 decades but this Bosch 12V cordless 5-headed "hydra" is a simply remarkable tool that is hands-down the best 12V drill I've ever used and puts many 18V/20V drills to shame. It is easy & intuitive to understand how to change the heads and has the right weight and feel of a trusted tool. I adore my Makita 18V twins but they're bigger & heavier & won't fit tasks like this Bosch will - especially with Bosch's offset head to drill/screw into tight corners & the right-angle flexible head. I just got this on sale for $140 and everything about it is Bosch high-quality - the heads, the carrying case, the charger, the feel in your hand. I used it all day on multiple DIY projects with both batteries and it just blew through everything - including my Dodge pickup truck bed metal - with the Black Oxide bits sold separately. I wish I had this decades ago. Kudos to Bosch - this is an amazing evolution in cordless drill technology and a simply amazing tool.

I love this Bosch Flexiclick multi-head drill/screw driver. I find it to have a very nice feel, and each snap-in piece goes in solid (though a little tight, I do find it sometimes takes a few seconds to get it just right before a piece slides into place, and it can be a little resistant to pulling the head out to allow rotating the right-angle and offset adapters). Note that unlike some reviewers, I have no issues with rotating and setting the adapters in each of the 16 positions (every 22.5 degrees), not just 90 degrees, for all pieces, including the right-angle and offset adapters.The gearing in this driver is somehow smoother than my older DeWalt or Porter Cable drivers, so I now tend to reach for this one when driving screws (easier speed control). It may not have quite as much power for driving deep screws, but that has only happened a couple of times and I just switched to my DeWalt for a second to finish it off.It does fit my hand, though I have large hands and can see where some people might find it a bit large to wrap their hand around.Update: I've had it over 1.5 years now and its working great and is my main screw driver. Note that though I use it often, I just do projects around the house and RV, so I can't speak to its durability for daily hard use like a professional would.

I'm a builder and have lots of different drills and drivers, and despite the basic design being more than 10 years old this is still a great little drill. I use it mainly for cabinet installs, where its size, versatility, and precise clutch are major time savers. It has enough power to drive a 1 1/4 Dare Devil or speedbor in a pinch, but if you think you're going to use this to rough in some electrical, or build a deck there are obviously better alternatives. I also want to mention I have never had the head disengage unintentionally. This was a major concern or mine reading some of the reviews, but it simply is not an issue for me. I dont know if this is because of a design change, or user error on the part of some reviewers, but once it is locked in I dont see how it would come off by itself, and I've certainly never experienced it. I do wish the drill had some sort of belt clip, especially since the one on their 12v impact is the best I've used.

Easily the best tool I ever purchased. No problems, no querks, as advertised. The offset interchangeable head is a game changer and I find I do most of my work with it attached (woodworking with hardwoods inc. maple, walnut, oak, zebra). I even use it to drill metal with very good non-mass production bits, but I have found zero noticeable power loss with the interchangeable heads, the battery life is great and the ergonomics can’t be beat. I also have the larger Bosh impact driver and haven’t used it since this little 20v arrived because it does... everything I need it to. I did think I was vastly limited in torque when I first got it because it would stall out on heavy material until I realized there is a limiter feature which has one of the greatest assets because once you dial in how to set it, well... I never have to worry about bumping the trigger or going slow and I never over-drill or crack wood anymore, even on very delicate material. It’s actually one of the best time saving features if you know how to use it. Well done Bosh!!!

I’m subtracting one star because it was shipped with only one battery. I bout it “reconditioned”, but I don’t think that means that it should be missing a component of the kit.I’m a fan of Bosch 12v tools, and this meets my high expectations.The power is adequate for most common tasks for finish carpenters and cabinet-installers. If you’re planning to remove lug nuts or something, then I suggest a good impact driver/wrench. I think it could drive decking screws, but it would be slow-ish, and I wouldn’t expect it to drive them all day long without damage to the tool.The attachments are very useful and feel solid. I particularly like the offset attachment for screws that need to be driven flush. I’ve worked as a cabinet installer for several years, and I foresee this being particularly useful for hardware installation.I do recommend a second drill with a 3-jaw chuck instead of repetitively changing bits in the detachable 3-jaw chuck that comes with this kit. Putting the detachable chuck back on just to loosen a drill bit and put in another bit becomes an annoyance very quickly. It’s still entirely useable, and it saves money and space compared to having a second drill. That’s the main thing that I dislike about using this drill, so I’m happy with this purchase overall.

The Bosch Flexiclick system makes this drill one of the most versatile tools in the 12V category. Being able to swap heads quickly for right angle or offset drilling is a huge advantage in tight spaces like cabinets or framing corners. It’s lightweight, easy to control, and great for precision work. However, it’s not a replacement for a full-size drill when it comes to heavy-duty tasks or high torque applications. If you understand its role as a compact, flexible solution rather than a powerhouse, it becomes an incredibly valuable tool to have.

I really like this tool and have been recommending it to many other people.I especially like the compact size and the offset attachment.I like it much better than the DeWalt 12V drill.I have not tried the Milwaukee M12 tool so cannot compare it.It is not designed for heavy duty projects (like building a deck) but it is great for most other jobs and is much lighter and easier to use than bigger drills.It only comes with a soft case so I bought a rigid case for it from Harbor Freight.Each person needs to decide if they want to pay about 50$ extra for the brushless version. I would recommend the brushless version for professionals but this version is fine for everyone else.Expecting this to do big jobs is like using a Honda Fit to move furniture (although I am guilty of doing that).

This is a pretty amazing deal - compare the cost of buying one battery + charger separately, it's about the same as this kit. Obviously this item is designed to get you into the Bosh 12V system, which is no terrible thing. This is probably a very good first purchase.While the drill is not up to the brushless GSR12V-300FC (also compatible available with these accessories), it's good enough. In fact is probably about the equal of one of my ancient Milwaukee 18V non-brushless units from over ten years ago - batteries, tools and even motors have come a long way. The chuck is good, closing down to grip even sub-1mm drill bits and opening up to 10mm - but I don't know if you want to be using large drill bits in this little drill, it probably has the power to get through a few holes but you may not have the grip with the small body of this drill. The light is handy, and works well. The accessories are easy to click on and off and will get you into tight or offset spots with ease.I would have liked to see an accessory mount (as the GSR12V-300FC has) on the body to attach a belt clip or bit holder. 3D printing will maybe solve that problem though there are not many places that a holder could grip onto without obscuring essential controls or vent holes.I have about 6 Bosch 12V tools now and I'm pretty impressed - in fact I bought this one because two extra batteries is handy, and I needed an extra charger. Free drill and accessories, effectively!

I originally purchased this to replace my 2007 vintage PS20 driver. The capability of flexclick system really caught my eye.Overall I am satisfied with this purchase. It seems very well built with higher capacity batteries.There are 2 issues I did not anticipate.1) this unit is much heavier overall than the PS20 and it is also very top heavy in comparison. Probably due to two reasons the robust flexclick mechanism and the additional features of the newer driver unit it was based on (2 speeds, more clutch settings & more powerful motor). A trade off for the additional capabilities. Not a deal breaker but just be aware of it if you are used to the older simpler units.2) the angled flexclick mechanisms do not attach at points I would have expected them to. In other words my expectation was at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock if the front end was a clock face. This unit locks at 3 positions on the “clock face” so the positions will be staggered and not at 90 degrees to one another. You can turn the locking ring before attaching and with trial and error it will lock at a desired “clock” position. In a way this creates more flexibility but conversely more fiddling. Fiddling leads to frustration if you are in a hurry.Update: after more fiddling I found that if you hold the right angle or offset attachments at the “angle” you want and turn the lock ring counter clock wise (or towards unlocking) until the attachment engages the driver you can then turn the lock ring the other way to lock it in position. (Could this have been in the manual? Lol) because of this I will re rate it at 5 stars.A pleasant surprise is that I was unaware that Bosch simply renamed their 10.8v batteries to 12v so the batteries are interchangeable between my drivers and chargers, so the PS20 will not be put out to pasture but will have a shiny new partner.This is from the Bosch website confirming the battery “name” change and cross compatibility:“All Bosch Professional 10.8V power tools, batteries and chargers will be changed to 12V.They are fully compatible.”I am really impressed with the service I have had with the PS20 and that the batteries are still doing well. I am hoping the same level of engineering and build went into the flexclick unit.Update Dec 2018: another issue to be aware of is that you must be careful when rotating the clutch if your wearing gloves or have your hand too far forward you can also inadvertently turn the attachment causing it to fall off. I’ve done this several times with the small driver attachment luckily in the shop. This would really suck if you are up a ladder or on a dock.Update 2021. It’s been about 3 yrs with this system and it is still my go to driver/drill. I will reluctantly use my Dewalt 20v tools if these do not have sufficient power to removed particular fasteners which is not very often. I would buy this system (probably the newer brushless version) again in a heartbeat. My only caveat is that if I was starting out (no previous 12V stuff) I would be hard not to go with Milwaukee (or possibly the new 12VDC Skill lineup by Ego) as they have far more tools in their M12 line than Bosch in North America. Bosch has great quality but the selection frankly sucks. Perhaps with more interest in 12V tool this will change.I just shelled out 180cad for the 3/8” PS82 impact wrench as I wanted a compact impact wrench so perhaps there is hope for this lineup (an angled die grinder would be nice too...hello Bosch?)Note HDepot often has great prices on some Bosch stuff so do your homework and you might get lucky (I got the original Bosch 3AH battery for less than 40cad delivered during a sale last year and they don’t even have the 12V line in the store near me).
