Violin Mastery: Interviews with Heifetz, Auer, Kreisler and Others (Dover Books On Music: Violin)

I recently started playing again. I am now 38 years old and probably stopped playing for about 2 years. Professionally I play mariachi music but I actually started out with classical. I started making money entirely too quickly while still a student. Now I find myself relearning so much that I forgot or that I never learned. This book has inspired me to strive to seek my best sound possible versus the quick buck. It has such great advice from the greats! I found myself buying more books based on their recommendations and learning about the greats I did not know of before. This maybe harder to read for the younger students but for perhaps the high school students and older, this book is a must. And for us older musicians, it will just encourage you to be great!

A book that is a must to read

A real learning experience for sure! Imagine getting the masters thoughts on the various methods on how to practice,technique and properly playing the violin and so much more.It is such a joy to reading this book. Mike M

This book was written a while and gives some insight from some of the best violin players in the US during this period. At times it seems to get repetitive but it is interesting to see the different point of views of the different artists. I recommend it.

Loved the good advice each Musialn gave, you can't win them all!! How. Much time is the right time to practise, I love Heifitz.s advice, just reads about!

This is a great book for string players, and also other musicians. About 20 interviews are presented, and reading the words of these players can prove helpful in improving practice and teaching techniques.

Libro de tamaño cuartilla con portadas y hojas de calidad.Era un libro que compré para mi hermana, que es violinista profesional y ha quedado muy contenta con él.

Intéressant, de bonnes entrevues avec des maîtres du violon. J’aurais aimé qu’ils aillent un peu plus en profondeur, même avec moins d’artistes.

An easy read, but nonetheless very interesting.
