I have been eceptionally happy with all the brooder lamps both 8 in. and 5 in. sizes. I use them for my indoor gardening plants with led bulbs.

Unless you need heat, use LED light bulbs. Then you can get super-bright bulbs (200-watt equivalent that will fit and put out less heat than 60-watt incandescents, which these are rated for. Only demerit is that I would prefer a longer (10-12 foot ) cord.

I have a couple of the old style huge aluminum reflectors from the "Hot" incandescent lamps which needed to be big for heat protection. LED's don't get that hot and the smaller fixture reflector is perfect for this use. Easier to locate and use goes a long way!

They do everything you would expect them to do. Great price.

The clamps are very hard to use so much so they hurt your fingers trying to open them but they work great for plants

I like that they came in a set of two, and for a good price. One of them is perfect.. however, the other's shade is just a little bit loose to screw on. The threads don't fit together properly. I added some teflon tape (like you put around a pipe to waterproof it before attaching to something), and with that it was able to grab on. This was an easy fix, but if I didn't know about it, I would have been frustrated with the ill-fitting, too-loose dome. I'm using them for a terrarium, and I think they'll do the job nicely. The clamps are very sturdy, so I'm not worried about the lights falling or moving.

I 'm building a project area for the family, so that means crafts, lego, drawing, painting, building and similar so I needed a quick adjustable light that can be moved around very easily that everyone can use, kid - teen - adult.I found this, bought this, installed this and now very happy as I found what I needed.Overall I do feel this is a quality item.The aluminum deflector is quite strong as it has a curled edge that prevents dings and warping damage. It would take a lot of force to bend or flex this deflector out of shape. I pressed it together using two hands and found it resisted that large force very well. A big plus for this.The pivot joint which I took a close-up picture is quite unique as it rotates on a grooved ball. The ball gives this extreme adjustability and the groves gives resistance so that it will easily lock into place when the butterfly nut is tightened.The large clamp gives very nice force to hold this light onto, well, basically anything. I had opened this clamp up to 5 inches and it even took that larger distance. If you must clamp this light onto something even wider, the metal clamp can easily be bend as it is a heavy gauge wire. The black rubber sleeve will prevent marring of the clamping surface.The aluminum diffuser just screws over the main light fixture and locks tight in place, easy peasy.I do also like that this light has an on/off switch and that can easily be toggled back and forth. For our using of these two lights I'm going to hook them up to a wireless outlet switch so with the press of a button 20 feet away they both will turn on.All in all, after giving this a very good going over, I find now flaws or defects. = me being impressed.I can easily recommend this to anyone who wants more light where THEY want it to be.Helpful, is how I hope you find this review

I've tried 3 different types of lighting for seed starting indoors and this is by far my favorite as it's so effective and affordable. The reflective lamp keeps my seeds and baby plants warm and cozy and allows for growth without overwhelming them. Skip the strip lights and snake lights that are more expensive and less effective.

I've had these for over a year, and they work fine. I paid $21 CDN for the set and it does what it says. Simple construction, all metal, the clamp and pivots have held up fine. Very handy to have around for the workshop and for lighting for videos.
