Had one of these in red for our Tiny Toy Poodle. It lasted a long time. I like it because it allows you freedom to let the dog go out 16’ away from you if you want. You can pull the dog in quickly by moving your arm and walking towards her. Her red Line lasted a long time- the problem was the cord frayed. I’ve had other FlexI leashes for my Schnauzer and have had the spring break a couple of times as he is very active. I got our poodle a little pink collar to match the new line. I highly recommend it and you should know that if the line breaks the company is good about replacing them.

This is a nice retractable leash. Most retractables use a flat fabric tape that reels in and out. That is great until the tape twists while retracting and jams. Now you're dealing with a dog on a long slack leash and things can get confused in a hurry. The corded type don't do that. The downside to the corded type is you can get a dandy miniature rope burn on your skin if the cord gets pulled across your arm or leg by the dog. Other than the rope burn it is fabulous and you learn fast to avoid having the cord get run along your skin. This new purchase is to replace some very old Flexi corded leashes that are finally wearing out. They are a high quality, well made and durable device.

We have 4 smaller dogs and had the longer version of this leash for years. In our new neighborhood there's a lot more active dog walkers which is great but made the long leashes a bit inconvenient to pull them all back from the longer length. We bought several of these to use instead since the are the medium length. I was worried that they would be smaller and not fit my larger hands (6'1" male) but they are nearly the same size as the long version. These are durable and the spring tension is perfect for our 15-20 pound pups. These would certainly be good for dogs all the way up to 30 pounds unless they are really strong pullers. I've dropped them several times and they barely have a few nicks in them and show no signs of damage. The cords are minorly reflective to help walking at night. Overall will definitely purchase again if needed. These certainly hold up better than any of the other non flexi brands we've tried. I've never had a flexi spring dislodge or break.

I've been using this leash for a year and it's still going strong. I have a 22 lb furbaby who can be walking calmly but then will bolt if she sees a squirrel. This leash has been tested by her sudden "bolts" several times and is still functioning quite well.It retracts well and is an all-around good product. I can't comment on the locking feature because I haven't used it.

I love Flexi products and will probably only use their retractable leashes. I trust them and the one I have for my other dog is on 4 years and still going strong. That being said, I ONLY use these in my backyard where I don't have a fence. Never use a retractable leash for walks. They are too difficult to quickly pull your pet back (if they are not all the way "retracted") and the cord will cut/burn the hell out of your hand if you try to grab the cord should the lock fail or for whatever reason. We have had many clients come in with cut hands from retractable leashes. We have even had a dog who was killed by a car when the retractable leash failed and another two who were attacked by other dogs when their owner couldn't "retract" them quickly enough. Always use two hands when your dog is on a walk, slack in one hand, direct tension with the other. Your pet's safety (and yours) should always be priority!

If the dog runs, and the cord gets pulled to the end of its capability it doesn’t roll back in. It’s definitely broken. It takes me 2-3 minutes to get it to roll back up inside. I have to mess with it, and feed it back in slowly, while re-pulling it out to get it to “catch” . This happened on walk #1. It’s very frustrating. Will be buying something else very soon before I either lose my dog to car because I can’t pull her back from getting hit, or all my hair from being so frustrated😕

I use the retractable leash for my 5 lb chihuahua. Moose loves the smooth retracting feature so he can run ahead or around me & it doesn't pull him back. It has a push button to stop him from running in front of a car or you can slide the button forward to lock it in place so he's on a shorter leash. Since the cording is round it doesn't get tangled. There's a slot to slide in the pop bag holder. That you can purchase separately. We really like it! Recommend.

I bought this for my mini schnauzer (9 lb) and it works perfectly, is easy to lock/unlock, very long so it gives her liberty, the only thing you need to be aware is that if you have an active dog like mine (she gets crazy wit lizards and frogs) because is a thin rope instead of a leash, you'll probably gonna hurt yourself trying to control your pet.

I bought this leash thinking it would retract all the way into the handle, like a tape measure, however it does not. Only the round white cord retracts into the handle, the black tape part of the leash stays exposed and does not retract. No being able to retract the tape portion of the leash is not practical as the exposed tape dangles from the handle. I sent this one back and purchased the TAPE Leash which I'm very happy with.I highly recommend Flexi Leashes ... I just prefer the full TAPE Leash, as opposed to this tape/cord leash.

This is an excellent product. I have a 5 pound dog and it works wonderfully for her.

Lasted me great, 8 months into use and still like this product, however sometime the lock gets stuck

Bought for my 11lb doggo it works great! And my dog loves the new freedom. Durable I have dropped it numerous times and still stays together

Best leashe ever. My old one wore out after 3 years so got a new one exactly the same.
