It's an eyecatcher!
We've had this clock for about 2 years. We still love it. It keeps time perfectly, I think we had an issue with a time change once, but it was quickly resolved online. We have several different types of clocks and this continues to be a favorite. Another plus is that as they upgrade Wi-Fi software, we continue to benefit on the upgrades,as long as they haven't made lots of changes to the new clocks. This makes our ClocTech Nixie tube clock a great value. Set up is easy as well. I'd purchase this again, fortunately, I don't need to! ;)

Very close replica of original nixie tubes, and just supercool overall.
This was my favorite Christmas gift I got this year. Even my millenial kids like it. I had always wanted a nixie tube clock, but the expense and hassles of the real nixie tubes just were not worth it. This clock captures 90% of the appearance of real nixies, in a modern digital clock, with none of the problems of real nixies. The tube digits really are 3D, with 10 individual digit plates stacked inside the tubes. The difference is that the numbers are engraved plastic plates rather than metal stampings, but that actually makes the numbers easier to read. The default digit color is nixie orange, but you can configure it with any tube any color in the rainbow. It also has a preprogrammed light show if that's your thing. Brightness is adjustable too. The base holding the electronics is small and is powered by a usb cord and phone charger, so it produces near zero heat. Programming instructions are cryptic as others have said, but no worse than a digital watch. The only thing they don't tell you is how to turn the alarm off(!), although they do tell you how to disable it. I got my clock up and going using just the buttons so I haven't bothered with the app.

Beautiful clock, but...
So I will start by saying this is a beautiful faux nixie clock. The display is well built and mesmerizing to look at. However, I had to return it purely based on it's Wi-Fi feature. The Wi-Fi presents itself as a static access point without password protection intended for you to connect and configure things like the time and custom colors of each tube through the use of a mini web service running on the clock. That's all fine, however, I never intended to use this feature and was happy just using the buttons on the clock directly to set modes. I accessed the Wi-Fi to secure it from the default open state and that's where I discovered that you can't and found my only gripe about this thing (and unfortunately a deal breaker for me). You can enable password on the access point with a check box which sets a default "weak" password that you cannot change. So it's either fully open or protected with a password you can just Google. There is no option to hide the Wi-Fi ssid broadcast (not that it creates any significant security). But more importantly there is no option to completely disable the Wi-Fi feature entirely. The manufacturer intends for you to connect the device to your home network in order to update and likely sync with ntp time services, which is fine, but I'm extremely reserved on which devices I allow on my network. So having a device accessible to anyone within 30 feet of my location is a huge concern even if it is just a clock. I would have totally kept this product if not for this security oversight. In my opinion no one should have a device in their home that isn't 100% in their control. Call me paranoid. If a device/product offers Wi-Fi functionality of any capacity (client or server) "proper" security options should be foremost in design. All in all, it's a pretty product and a nice spin on the old nixies with nicely etched acrylic number plates that even mimic the depth of the real ones (and use a ton less power). Brightness has a nice adjustable range and colors are vivid (likely neopixel or some variant). It runs on an espressif microcontroller and overall has a solid feel. Buttons have a little play, so they rattle if you shake it, but overall a nice device. Kudos on the physical design, but the firmware could use a little more work to address the issues above. I was considering keeping it and writing my own to disable the Wi-Fi but I have too many projects already. Thank you and sorry for the return.

Fun & whimsical clock
I bought two clocks. One for myself and the other as a gift for my brother and he loves it. The tube display with its bright colors makes you want to keep watching as it "ticks" off the time. Its been keeping time very well. There is a little bit of a learning curve to setting the time because the instructions are a little vague. The clock comes with a usb-c cord and power plug. It does make for a great gift. Only caveat is that this is a bright display and wouldn't work for someone that is a dark room sleeper. It is excellent for a living room or rec room.

Oh, so sweet Wow!
This thing is just plain cool. Easy to setup, no router security to worry about. Go to wifi settings on your phone and look for clock tech network to show up-the clock broadcasts a signal. Click on the clocks network and enter the 1xxx web address in the instructions and you get full access to the clock. It's just a wonderful thing. Stunning to look at and to be able to change the colors and everything else you'll love it. YES it looses about 2secs a day but who cares, 4 clicks on my phone and it is exact again. It's sweet and worth every penny!

If dropped it will scoff the cover for the time.
It is very nice to have and it is very good quality and the antique feel is great for people who like antique.

beautiful SUBTLE clock, I love it!
I've been playing with this for about a day and a half now -- and I admit some of the subtleties of programming it are still eluding me; I'm heading for a video about that one day. But not today! I've got it set up now (SOMEhow, not sure exactly how; I will not be changing it any time soon in case I can't readily get this look back) so each cube is pulsing in different random colors, and it's beautiful to look at. One of my programming stymies has been that I can't seem to get it in 12 hour mode (vs. 24-hour mode, ie military time) but I've decided I prefer 24-hour mode anyway at this point. (it gives that first cube a bit more to do!) I have it positioned below my TV, where I previously had another "normal" clock, and at first I worried that the time was too hard to "read" on this clock, and -- depending on the pulsing -- it CAN take me a couple of seconds to "read" the time, during the day. (It gets much brighter in a room which is not sunlit, duh.) But I've decided I like that TOO! If you want to know the time, there it is right in front of you. But if you DON'T care about the time at the moment, it's not all "in your face" about it. (of course, you can also set it so that it does NOT pulse and change colors; but I don't think I'll be doing that any time soon.) I love it. And, unlike the plain jane clock it's replacing, it actually seems to tell time pretty well so far, too.

Nice glow effect, bad software and reliability
The good: 1. Clock is a clever imitation of a real nixie tube clock made with acrylic panes and LEDs. Looks pretty good! Has a nice glow to it and the step animation is kinda cool. The bad: 1. Poor security. I would not trust this thing to join my wifi. 2. Using your phone to customize the colors is pretty bad. How do you pick the same color for each digit other than trial and error? Bad admin control page all around. 3. Keeps poor time. Clock drifts 15 seconds/week. 4. Maybe mine was just defective, but nearly every day clock would be stuck displaying random digits and colors. If I whacked it a few times, it would go back to working correctly. I returned this item after a couple of weeks. I would have kept it if not for this issue ,as it seemed like a loose connection internally somewhere, and I was concerned it would not last long.

You need this!
I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this. It is absolutely stunning!! If you're a designer or someone who appreciates good design, you will love this. It was packed so well, connecting it with my mobile also allowed me to control the colors and display mode. Pictures don't do it justice, it is much much better in real life.
