Sony SLV-N71 4-Head Hi-Fi VCR

This is the first time I have written a review for anything I have purchased on AmazonBut, I wanted to write this review, because if you are like me and still have analog television and watch VHS moviesthis is the easiest VCR to purchase and hook up.The VCR came to my door, I took it out of the box, plugged it to my coaxial F plug on my old television set, whichby the way, is the only plug I have on the TV set to plug into a VCR and I was able to start watching movies right away.No problems, no hassles, no having to read the entire manual just to understand how to hook the VCR up.A Wonderful piece of equipment, worked right out of the box, would highly speak to all that want a VCR to buy this productI do have to say if you have cable, it is just as easy to hook up. This VCR will hook up to both RCA plugs, or just yourstandard old time coaxial F plug.This is all you have to mess with to hook to your VCR and to your television set and it is that easy.The Sony VCR is the easiest VCR on the market to use, it is heavy and not made of plastic and it is a very simple VCR.No fancy bells or whistles. My advice is, if you want something more advanced, chose something different. Or is you are very picky, do not order this VCR, you need a new model.This VCR is an older model that is solidly built, but nothing fancy, which is my kind of VCR.

Buttons did not work at all. Popped in a tape, all seemed fine, however it seemed none of the buttons were working as intended. Tried to rewind, it paused the video. I hit play, it started to rewind. I hit fast forward, it started to RECORD. Eject button didn’t work. Power button did nothing. The remote did not work either. Waste of time and money. Immediately got a refund for this pile of junk. AVOID.

It arrived like new. Worked our of the box. No issues to report.

I have had no issues with the VCR playing my old tapes.Easy to put together. Well packaged

plays perfect, clear picture. looks like new. one satisfied customer.

It worked right out the box, including the remote. I am in the process of converting old VHS tapes to digital from as far back as 30 years ago. Using Elgato and this VCR has made it a breeze, and so much fun. I feel it has helped me go back in time. Thank you so very much for helping me in accomplishing this project that I have put off for years!

I bought this item for an elderly couple who are home bound who had a lot of vhs tapes and are not in a position to replace with dvds. I knew that trying to purchase a working VCR would be a challenge due to the age of these machines. This item was advertised to be in good working order. It came shipped with the outer cover halfway off the machine. It also came with a universal remote that will not work the machine. I ruined a vhs tape just trying to make the machine work at all. I had to disassemble the machine in order to remove the tape from a machine that was not in working order from the beginning. I do not expect a refund for the machine since obviously the seller knew the machine didn’t work to begin with. I am very disappointed in this purchase. I am an avid amazon customer and have never had this experience in the past. My opinion is this item was falsely advertised and the seller knew it was not functional. You may have got me for the money, I hope you are happy with yourself. Thanks a bunch.

First VCR didn’t work,so I returned it. They did not understand that I wanted a replacement per Amazon. It took weeks to get the replacement. However, they did credit my cost and gave me the replacement at no cost. The last unit appears to be working with no problem.
