Hotel For Dogs

Fun Movie
As others have said, this movie is unrealistic in many ways, like the basic premise of keeping a ton of dogs at an old hotel, with gadgets that help them eat, and play when no one is around, etc., and the kids somehow having the time and money to do all this. That said, it's not a complaint. Many of the folks saying it was unrealistic were bad reviews, but I don't hate movies for being unrealistic. Movies are movies, not real life, and if I was looking to deal with real life, I wouldn't need to watch movies. Maybe you'll feel better about it if you consider it fantasy, or even the comedy it was meant to be. I would like to point out two things. One, the younger brother was a "gadget inventor" of sorts, and he's the one who made the gadgets in this, using mostly a lot of junk. I never questioned where the money came from for all that. The kid who worked in the pet store said he could provide food at an employee discount. OK, it was still a lot of food.I'm an adult and I enjoyed this, and I imagine kids would think it was fun. It wasn't like my favorite movie but still fun. It has less dog stuff in it than expected and took too long to get started on the good stuff (like "when's the hotel coming?"), and yeah, a bit unrealistic, but it was still some good fun. And I was hoping all the mean rotten people in this movie would have their day coming. (I guess that was a bit predictable.)I do feel I need to address some garbage said in some of the bad reviews. I felt some people were a bit extremist animal vigilantes. I'm an animal lover. Furthermore, I don't just see them as fun cuddly things that are there for my benefit; I respect them. Some people are just looking to be offended over things. I recognized that the guys from the pound were total jerks and seemed to enjoy their job a bit too much, but am also aware that not every pound employee is like that. And some shelters are no-kill. And someone insisted pet stores don't "adopt" out pets, but sell them for profit. That is just wrong. Now, the kind of pet store in a mall that just sells animals, yeah, sure, and who knows where they came from. But this was a *pet supply* store, and yes they do adopt animals, generally from the local shelters. I've gotten several of my pets that way, so I know for a fact they do it. And of course no reputable breeder is selling their pups to the pet stores to sell! -- I don't think anyone thinks that's where those dogs came from. They are strays and I think that's obvious. I think some of you have just been barfing up these same old complaints for so long that you can't get past it. I think it's cool that these kids wanted to take care of the strays so they wouldn't end up in the pound. As to the foster parents, yeah, they're jerks. That was by intent, and it was intended for comedy. You remember, comedy? If your kids watching with you are getting the wrong impression, then perhaps you could explain the concept of "it's just a movie." I mean, in the end, who is supposed to be leaving good impressions on your kids, movies, or YOU? That goes for how it ended as well. This is supposed to be a feel good movie with a happy ending, and some of you are just ruining that. Sorry for the rant.

I loved this film and of course had to be a true dog lover to want to buy it and watch it and everything is absolutely hilarious fun, loving, caring and all the dogs are the most amazing trained actors and those little two twin dacies my most favourite breed. Real animal lovers film and the baddies/dog pound get their come-upperance ha ha, it's called dog power and young kids empowerment to do something and fight the state and save and make a home for all these rescue dogs in a hotel in New York, of course "Hotel for Dogs" yay.

One for the kids
This is a real feel-good family film, and the dogs in are just wonderful. It's a real good vs bad and great fun, if rather sad in places, but all comes good in the end. How they got all those dogs to behave and act as they do is totally beyond me, they all deserve an oscar. An outright winner with my 10 year old son and I have to say with his parents too! Loved it.

Hotel for dogs
This is a great family film, as with most dog based films there is a great deal of comedy and fun, the film also delivers a strong message about our responsibility to care for our animals, but in an entertaining and fun way it also shows how friendship and trust works between man and his K-9 companion, it's a great film any animal lover will love this.
