Perfect for my excessively oily scalp and hair.
Full disclaimer: My hair is an oily mess. About 14 hours after a typical drugstores/salon shampoo wash I typically look like I haven't washed my hair in several days. At least an inch off the root of my hair is matted down and just an oily mess. If I try to push my wash off for three days after washing my hairs oils have actually gone down to shoulder length and my scalp becomes itchy. At that point, it looks like I should have just drenched my hair in coconut and/or olive oil and left it to set.I've washed my hair with this product three times so far and I've noticed an immediate change. The first day I noticed that my hair 24 hours after washing still looks fairly good, think dry shampoo (although I"'ve never been able to use dry shampoo because it still leaves my hair flat against my head and then it turns stringy and still oily) type look. My fine oily hair actually had volume *GASP!* The second day I washed my hair and 10 hours later it looked exactly as I had washed in the earlier morning. The third time I washed my hair was because I had an odor in my hair (I have a fragrance allergy and the friends home I went to had a LOT of fragrance absolutely everywhere. I came home removed the garments I was wearing to immediately put them in the wash, then I realized the scent was in my hair too. I washed my hair for the second time today -- the third wash in total -- and the offensive odors came out of my hair without any double washing required.)This shampoo is a bit odd in comparison to a regular product. The shampoo doesn't lather like you would expect from a drugstore and/or salon product. I take one full pump of shampoo in my hands for my mid-back length hair. I gently rub it between my palms and apply directly to the crown of my head. I don't recommend trying to foam it up in your hands, it's not going to work well. If you've ever touched aloe vera, the semi-thick gel that you buy in a bottle at the drug store you'll understand what I mean. It's not a thick product like you may be accustomed to. It's more slippery than you realize and as a result, you may lose my product than retain in your palms.Overall: Would I recommend this product - ABSOLUTELY! I think this will be my new Holy Grail shampoo.Note: My husband did try this and he didn't like it. He prefers the shampoos that lather in your palms in comparison to one that you apply directly to the scalp/crown and then work it into the hair.

Soothing for allergies
We have been testing out a variety of fragrance free shampoos in our home, and so far this one is our favorite. The amount you get for the price, in a handy pump bottle is great!Initially I was a little put out by the texture and scent. It is very similar to hand sanitizer and kind of smells like a hospital. It dispenses very easily. It doesn’t lather, which is down to the absence of sulfates which aggravate sensitive skin. It gets the job done, though sometimes requires a second wash. The most important thing I’m noticing is how well it works to soothe irritated skin. I have been allergic to everything lately and if I get an itchy face and scalp I have noticed this seems to calm it down. With other brands I have had to wash my hair every day to avoid looking greasy, but this one I can go a couple days. Probably because it’s not irritating my scalp or stripping my hair, causing an overproduction of oil. I have fine thin hair so this matters! It leaves my hair feeling really healthy and looking shiny. Some of the other brands were drying out my ends. I’m hoping it helps with the breakage I’ve been experiencing too.

It's ok and scent free enough.
I received the old version last time I ordered this. This time I ordered it, it came in a new bottle and said it was a new formula. I haven't noticed a difference in performance, but noticed a huge difference in consistency. The old one was like a gel, and it was really hard to keep the gel on my hands while I smushed it up to get it to not just fall back off my hands before I could get to to my hair/body/scrubbie/whatever. I like this far better. I was wasting too much because of the gel consistency. This is now much more like regular shampoo--hard to describe, but hopefully you know what I mean.Overall, this is not the best shampoo, but it basically does the job. I am chemically sensitive, so I've had a hard time finding shampoo that is safe for me (scent free) and afordable. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Safe Choice Shampoo, but it's at least three times more expensive. I simply don't have that kind of money. This shampoo does have a little scent which was too much for me a few years ago, but now I seem to basically handle it, so I switched. I don't like it nearly as much as Safe Choice. But this shampoo, such as it is, is at least less watery than the other fragrance free shampoos I've found here and at Whole Foods. I really wonder if they water their shampoos down to make it seem like they are less expensive than they are, but this one doesn't do that. It's a fair price for a fair shampoo. If you have the money, I'd recommend Safe Choice, but if you can handle this one scent-wise, this will do.Oh, the main reasons like Safe Choice better is that Safe Choice is more concentrated (not enough to make it worth the extra cost though), gets your hair cleaner, and doesn't leave a residue in the bathtub, which makes cleaning the tub/shower really easy, especially since it can be used as a body wash also. Safe Choice is also really scent free in that I know many chemically sensitive people who can only use that shampoo. Most all shampoos that say they are scent free, are not by far!! This one is not all that scent free and I do react to it a bit, but not enough to be a problem at this point, gratefully. Individual tolerances will vary, but this is not one of the safest out there.
