I usually wouldn't go into specifics on an item like this, because my neck isn't your neck. All I can say is I don't understand the banner that says it is a "frequently returned" item, but has a 71% 5-star rating. This is simply the best cervical pillow I've ever tried and I've tried A LOT. After my first one, I bought one for use in hotels because it's small enough for my luggage and worth the improved sleep on vacation. I then purchased two more, just in case that "frequently returned" turns into Amazon not carrying them anymore. I can now sleep at night on my comfy pillow knowing I have back-ups.

I have been sleeping with a neck roll under a standard pillow for years which worked good. I recently had temporary living arrangements during the sale and purchase of a new home and all of our stuff was packed up so I ordered this. Total game changer. It provides the necessary support and angle needed. It is great for back or side sleeping. It’s also super convenient to travel with. It fits nicely in a backpack. I got it as a temporary solution, but I’ve since moved into my new home and am still using it every night. I don’t review much, but I’ve been thinking about this for days because if you have the neck and back pain I’ve had then you know how important a good pillow is. This really makes all the difference.

I feel like I've had this a lot longer than I have. It's not been quite two weeks, and I have noticed a difference almost immediately. To back track, I had a very poor bed months ago that I absolutely loved but I was pretty close to feeling the springs so when a friend of mine offered me a new bed that was used for a week, I jumped.My new bed was super comfy but I just kept waking up every morning with the sore neck shoulders and upper back like a hanger. I love my pillows and did not have this painful problem with my previous bed/pullow situation.I really didn't have the money to buy a new bed or buy new pillows or anything. But I bought this because I was desperate for some relief. After 4 months I couldn't take it anymore. It hurt to roll over it, hurt to get out of bed. It was just so painful.This magic little pillow arrived and I was skeptical because I was just so afraid nothing would work and I'd always be pained.I noticed relief immediately. I have not quite figured out how to lay on my side with it properly, because when my neck is in the right position I feel like my head is tilted towards the floor. Aside from that, I have started sleeping on my back more though I am 95% side sleeper.I might have to seek out the extra insert and see if thar helps me more.The only problem I have is that two of my cats also like this pillow, so I might need to buy another. I can kick one-off, no problem, he's a piece of cake he'll sleep anywhere but the other one I just don't have the heart to make her move even if it causes me pain.I would highly recommend trying this out if you are having upper back/shoulder/neck pain. It really can't hurt more than the pain that you're already dealing with.

Is it smaller than I imagined? Yes. Is the neck valley not very pronounced? Yes. Have I gotten really good nights rest with this? Yes! I usually don’t sleep on my back but I can feel my airway staying open when I actually sleep on my back which keeps me from snoring. I eventually switch to my side and the elevated portion on either side of the neck valley of the pillow are a really good height for my shoulder depth to keep my head parallel with my spine.I will also say that this pillow isn’t as luxurious as a regular pillow in terms of plushness bc it’s very firm. It’s not lay my head on a cloud and fall right asleep but it’s a trade off I’ll take for being able to sleep throughout the night once I settle in.

Customer service is great, still trying to get the pillow to work for me. It's too low & they're sending me a mat to make it taller. The pillow itself feels good, not too firm and not too soft.

My shoulder is quite broad and I like to sleep on the side. Extra firm pillows are still too soft to be supportive to my neck, causing my shoulder muscles to always be painful. I put this pillow on top of a normal pillow; for me, their combined height is just right. The memory foam provides enough support for my neck.
