Says American made, Was out performed by China....
This product comes with the inlet and outlet fittings that you can screw into the unit if you have rubber fuel lines you are wanting to hook up (as was my case). I started to screw in the inlet fitting, and it cracked the housing of the fuel pump where the threads were for the fitting. Obviously that isn't going to work. So back in the box it went, before it even saw gas, and it was sent back to amazon. THE FITTING THEY GIVE YOU cracks the housing in some cases... Sounds crazy when you say it out loud. This was also the same model, appears and build wise, of the one I was replacing, which I put on years ago. So it's not like this was my first rodeo with a fuel pump, even this one in particular. Here is the saddest part of the story. This product states that it is made in the good ol' USA. I went to a local auto store, picked up a pump while this one was on it's way back. Same exact look, feel, material, just under a different brand name. Also boasted a nice little "Made in China" sticker. First thought wasn't great after seeing the china sticker, however, that pump went on fine, no issues and has been on for a month now. Sad to see the American made one busted before the Chinese one. Makes you wonder if this is just purchased from china and re boxed under an American company...

Lasted 18 months
I revived a 52-year-old truck, replacing the mech. fuel pump was one of my first tasks. 18 months later, it started losing pressure eventually failing yesterday. My original lasted decades, this one lasted months- manufacturing quality isn't what it used to be. I'm replacing it with an Edelbrock to see if that's an improvement.

visually I thought I was good to go
So far, ok. Fits, but slightly different design it appears to me. Some parts look servicable, but less robust. I wish this could just be rebuilt, since only needs a diaphragm, nothing else. Anyway, -- look careful at how your fuel line hooks up. I had a leak at the In-let fitting, but because it was not clear which one to use. Of course after I figured it out, it was obvious. But, if you have not replace an old style in a while, look carefully at if the pressure fit coupling is used on the inlet. To me, visually I thought I was good to go. I was happy I *didn't keep *tightening, versus reconsidering what didn't look correct, but was. Make sense!? Hope so. I am pretty capable, and surprised I didn't see this right off. Better diagrams of fitment would have helped me save an hour here. Or, you may be repurchasing it, for wrenching on it incorrectly. This style should barely leak at finger tight, it's low pressure, so, if tightening and tightening, have a look.
