GREAT! For my KP
At 25 now, I have had KP my whole life as it was passed down through my family. I was diagnosed by the dermatologist when I was 16 going in for Acne treatment. He prescribed various things that never worked, but after research I discovered this lotion. Thus far, I really like it. I agree with the strong chemical smell being kind of disconcerting, but I throw my fave scent over it, and I have never had anyone else tell me I smelled like chemicals. My only complaint with the product is that it smooths my skin so drastically, if I miss a few days use I really notice the bumps coming back. Also don't use it after shaving unless you like the stinging feeling... and I do use it on my face alternately with my m.d. forte glycolic acid face lotion.

Miracle lotion!
This stuff is amazing! I bought it after reading about the cream in Real Simple magazine. I bought the lotion because that's all they had at Costco (which, by the way, sells it for much less than anywhere else I've seen).I put this on each morning, and in a matter of weeks, it has not only made my chronic dry skin disappear, but for the first time in many years, my legs actually feel smooth. I've always suffered from tiny bumps on my legs, and now I can't feel them. The only reason I give it four stars is because it is a bit greasy and can make my clothes feel a little tight if I dress too soon after application. Small price to pay, though, for such baby-soft skin!

Effective Treatment for Dry Skin
AmLactin was recommended to me by a dermatologist to treat both common dry skin and the (harmless but unsightly) hereditary condition "keratosis pilaris", the medical name for the red, rough bumps sometimes found on the outer sides of the upper arms. It is an incredible product. One application of the lotion treats dry skin all day, and prolonged usage reduces the appearance of keratosis pilaris. Some may find the unperfumed scent unpleasant, but its effectiveness makes this a small tradeoff in my book. As a note, AmLactin cannot be used on skin with cuts or infections as its strong ammonium and lactic acid combination will burn.

Good AHA lotion
This is a great, straight-up AHA lotion with no frills (like perfume) and is very effective. I've been using this lotion on my feet to smooth roughness and it is really working. The only drawbacks are a slight chemical smell and some stickiness after applying. However, if you're looking for a great AHA, this product will do the job.

The best cream on the market without a prescription!
I have been using AmLactin for several years now. I feel it's the best mosturizer for normal and dry skin. I even use it on my face. You can't beat AHA's for erasing fine lines. I've gotten compliments for years now about my skin. The ammonium scent is hard to get used too, but if you put a pleasent smelling lotion on top of AmLactin it's more tolerating. And no,you will not counteract the effects of the AHA's in doing so!

Chemical smell and sticky
I have tried this product on my arms and legs to help my Keritosis Pilaris, the product has worked some what but the chemical smell put me off. Also when I first put the cream on it dries sticky and made my skin tingle. It didn't get rid of the KP (I'm still using it as I can't afford anything else) but a combination of using this cream and exfoliating has made it slightly better....not the miracle I was hoping for though :0(

Excellent for dry skin but not for KP
I found this lotion to be great for dry skin, but I've used it for a month and seen no visible results to help the red bumps of Keratosis Pilaris. It did smooth the rough part of my skin. The lotion is also thin and a little sticky, but effective as far as moisture goes. If it was helpful for those with KP I'd give 5 stars.

FINALLY!!!
My son has had red bumps on his legs, back of the arms and calves since he was just 6 months old. Our skin specialist recommend AmLactin and we just love it. It's taken a while but the bumps seem to be going away. I highly recommend it.
