Question?
I have one question burning in the back of my mind since I finished the book. How could have Izabel gotten pregnant when in Reviving Izabel Victor said that "you won't get pregnant, at least not by me?"

Worth the wait!!!
I started this series way back at the beginning and sometimes the wait for the next book was agony!! As always, it was worth the wait. I had so much of myself invested in these people, that they just always seemed so real. I will simply miss being in the company of killers. Well done Jessica, take a bow!

J.A. Redmerski never disappoints
Yet, again, another brilliant addition to (in the company of killers) saga. When it comes to suspense/ romance novels, J.A. Redmerski truly understands the art of defying clichés. I’ve waited impatiently for two years for the release of ‘The Darkest Half’ and it was worth the wait. Thank you, Redmerski.

Worth the wait!!!!
I don't want to give anything away. Just know that this book is worth the wait! The only thing I don't like about it is that this is the last book of the series. I'm sad to see my favorite characters go, but happy we as readers got a proper goodbye.

The Fakest half
After the long awaited book it was worth it. Dark and intense as books 1-7. Some twists that I truly did not expect. I really loved how she finished the story maybe with one exception and that is Fredrik. No spoilers.

Happy we got this last book, sad the series has come to an end.
Oh, man. What a bittersweet goodbye to a consuming and addictive series. I knew going in this book was going to give me answers but also leave me with lingering questions. No matter how Redmerski wrapped it up, I would always want to know more. That's a compliment to her writing and the world she created for In the Company of Killers. Izabel, Victor, Fredrik, Niklas, Nora, and their "friends" and foes. The series could go on indefinitely, but I know it can't.So, how did I feel about this final chapter? I was pretty pleased with the plot. I thought Redmerski took the conclusion in a natural direction and still had some surprises up her sleeves for us. There was one character who I have mixed feelings about in the end. I can't say more because I don't want to spoil, but I wish that character had gone a different direction. I understand why they didn't, though. There were a couple of characters I wanted or needed more from or about. Their final contributions to the story felt a little vague to me at the end, like I needed one or two more chapters in their POV since I won't be getting more in future books. That's one of the reasons I wish this book was longer than the 201 pages I got.The other reason is that I just wasn't ready for it to all be over. When I finished Spiders in the Grove, I thought "That’s where it ends??? I need more now! Where is the next book?". I've finally gotten that next book and finished it and I am still saying, "That’s where it ends??? I need more now! Where is the next book?". I know there won't be more next books. I wish there would be, but I understand Redmerski needing to move on. Maybe she left some things the way she did in case she ever wanted to come back to the series. I kind of hope that's it. If that doesn't happen, it will be okay. I'll be over here hoping things are going well for those still standing.

DARKEST HALF
Oooh this is a hard one to review. This series has a special place in my heart as one of my all-time favorites. These characters mean so much to me! This book has been highly, HIGHLY anticipated for me. It’s been 4 years since the last book, and I just wasn’t sure what to expect with this one. Unfortunately, it kinda felt like the author just wanted to be done with the series and move on with her writing. Which I totally can understand. And honestly, I’m glad she gave us this book regardless instead of just moving on and not finishing it. But- it feels rushed and just trying to tie up loose ends, taking the easy way out on the plot twists.Did I enjoy it? Hell yes, I did. I LOVE being back with my faves (Niklaus!!!!) and back in this world. Did I expect more for what was supposed to be an epic finale to one of the best series ever? Yep, I did. Would I recommend this series? A million times yes! I actually wonder if I binged this series all at once, instead of waiting 4 years for this last book, if maybe I would’ve felt better about this book… and I think maybe. It’s just one of those things- it’s hard to live up to something everyone has built up for song long in their minds. Still a totally unique and absolutely incredible series that I recommend over and over to readers who enjoy dark romance.
