Works, Cell reception good, WiFi is weak, Router has reduced features, IP passthru works
I am replacing a trial LB2120 (LTE Cellular Modem) that was running about 5-25 Mpbs depending on available LTE bandwidth. Goal was to dump Comcast and avoid AT&T running into my house. I bought a < $200 Renewed M6 Pro, it is labeled for AT&T, I am using an AT&T SIM, and it found the APN without my intervention. Per current Amazon reviews, less than half give it 5 stars, almost a quarter gave it 1 star, some were very unhappy with the product. Given that the new units are almost $1000, why are the Renewed less than $200, where are they getting them from? I have worked with many peripherals of this sort, and this was one of the more difficult to configure, lots of reboots, configuration, and downstream effects to correct. That said in about 6 hours I brought it up in baby steps, and finally have the M6 integrated with my original Netgear 6700v3 (not a current device), and it is working very well. IP Pass Thru creates a direct feed to/from the 6700, with minimal effects from the M6. Some of the complexities are three User Interfaces > LCD GUI has very minimal features > The phone App has more features, but still not complete > Browser to 192.168.1.1 gets the most features Overall the features are dumbed-down from the Netgear 6700 type of device. > No reservations for DHCP address > It has port forwarding, but I didn't try it > The WiFi is weak, 2.4GHz couldn't make 40 feet of residential Weak WiFi may be due to small internal antennae. Aside from DDNS not working (it is getting the wrong IP address), the 6700v3 is working as well as it did with the Comcast cable modem. I am getting almost 100Mbs download, well above my usage goals. Update 4/24/2024 Unit is still working. It appears the default settings favor battery life over performance, a reasonable choice for a hotspot (and WiFi range is compromised by design). I am using it as a modem to a Router+WiFI, and favor performance over battery life. The best performance is to set the M6 "Power Mode" to "Plugged in" ... that didn't work with the USB-A power adapter that was delivered, and it gave a message about using the Adapter that was delivered (Netgear delivers with USB-C and Amazon "renewed" replaces that with a USB-A that won't support the "Plugged in Power Mode". It does work the a USB-C adapter. Over the M6 can be "made to work", like most things with this product, there are numerous weaknesses, but with time and web research, I have been able to get it to meet my needs.

Going from a Knighthawk M1 to a M6 Pro refurbished this will be 1 of 2 reviews.
If i can figure out how to attach a photo i will. First Prime sucks now and package came a day late because they sent it usps. i went to post office to see if it came in this morning. It did the box had been crushed and was split open. So i opened it the rest of the way just to see there was no packing material in the packing box and the little box inside holding the m6, batter, cable was all loose rolling around in the packing box. no paperwork no instruction. So and if you get one of these i recommend you take it to an ATT Store. So the fun part. We plugged it in and it gives an error to plug it in with its cable. It came with wrong cable and charger about 80 bucks later it powered up. Just to find out there was a password protecting it. So ATT did a factory reset 3 times for it to be reset for the many things corrected. I was at ATT Store for about an hour so bring some popcorn. i will give another review about it in 30 days or more. Everything seems to work so far with that rough start. I'm currently giving one star for delivery and it not having right parts with it or info on how to unlock password to use it.

Highly recommend!!! Best renewed item that I have purchased on Amazon!
I was genuinely skeptical about buying another renewed item on Amazon because of my previous negative experiences. However, I was pleasantly surprised to receive the item in excellent condition, and all the items were well-packaged. As other reviewers pointed out, it did not come with the original battery and charger, but all the items were new. Now I have been testing it out for the past week and it has been working flawlessly! I've tried using At&t and Verizon SIM cards and they do work. Connection to the networks have been really good with great speeds. Just heads up, this unit DOES work with Verizon, it just doesn't have the mmWave frequency like the MR6550 model has. But if you don't care for that, this model still receives the normal n77 5G on Verizon and still works great for my use case. I mean for the price for this model, I really can't complain. I will definitely purchase renewed items from this seller in the future so I definitely recommend this item if you plan on getting one.

Really good with exceptions
The device works. The support around the device are in dire need of correcting. I was able to get the device connected to one of the major carrier as a separate device from my current wireless account. The data plan is a good deal and comes with a healthy amount of data available at 5G. I did a separate account for this device alone and that drove the cost of the plan down significantly. The instructions - Non-existent The battery - I would not have shipped this device to my worse friend with the battery that was installed. They are not giving these things away and you would imagine that there would be a healthy battery installed. Once configured, I connected a couple of my devices and the battery was as dead a Cesar within an hour. Seller, do yourself and your customers a favor. Spend a couple of extra bucks and add a fresh battery. It will pay dividends in the long run. The device takes next to forever to boot up and you would imagine a device that is purported to be "Renewed" would boot as fast of faster than one that is fresh off of the shelf. Recommendation: It is good. It does what it is supposed to but definitely not worth the asking price.

A fantastic WIFI Hotspot that works on 5G and 4G networks seamlessly.
Alright, this thing was fantastic for the price point. I took this overseas for a few months and popped in a foreign sim card. As it stated, it was unlocked and the card worked immediately. I had it on both 5G and 4G LTE networks and it worked great. I used this for about 7 months and it held full charge each day. The WIFI range was better than expected for me. You can also set a pin on the screen to customize it to ensure your security of your WIFI network. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a portable hotspot that can take multiple devices at once. I had 8 devices at one time and it worked just fine.

It is a crapshoot when you buy it refurbished
As the title suggests, these refurbished units come with a bit of uncertainty. My initial unit failed to connect to the TMO network using my unlimited data SIM card, even after numerous attempts to remove it from ATT's network. Unfortunately, ATT wasn't able to assist in resolving the issue. The seller couldn't offer support with registration and directed me back to ATT. After returning the unit, Amazon replaced it with a new one. To my relief, this unit promptly recognized my SIM card and connected to TMO's network without any trouble. I intended to use this as a backup network solution for instances when my primary Xfinity network is down, enabling me to work from home. Following the instructions in the manual for optimal performance, I connected it via Ethernet, disabled WiFi, and utilized the power adapter. Despite these efforts, the unit wouldn't boot up after connecting the shipped power supply. Despite reaching out to the seller multiple times, the best resolution offered was a modest refund to purchase another power supply. Netgear support indicated their inability to assist due to the refurbished nature of the product. After various trials and errors, I discovered that the power supply must have a USB-C port outputting 5v and more than 2A. Ordering a compatible power supply from Amazon resolved the issue, and the unit booted up seamlessly. It's worth noting that a smaller power supply than the 60W might suffice for this unit. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0874GDG93?psc=1&ref=product_details

Awesome for backup internet
I bought this because it has an ethernet port on it, and my Unifi Dream Machine supports having a backup internet connection. To use the ethernet port, you have to use it without the battery. Also, it has IP Passthrough mode so it's not another layer of NAT. The power supply it comes with will NOT power it without the battery, it brings up a message on the screen when you don't have a battery in it that says to use the "included power supply." The power supply that came with mine was definitely not the one that came with it, it was pretty sketchy. I grabbed a USB-C power supply and cable, and that worked. The unit needs to reboot when you switch the power mode to run w/o a battery. It also needs to reboot again when you turn on IP Passthrough. IP Passthrough also disables the Wifi, so you can only use the ethernet port. I'm on Google Fi, so I just popped in a data only SIM and selected the T-mobile profile.

NOT compatible with Verizon!
Not unlocked for Verizon as stated. Bought Verizon BYOD sim card, inserted it, and then went to activate it on Verizon's website to find that the model is not supported by Verizon. Didn't go to set it up until I needed it and missed the return window.
