No more ratchet straps for me
These things are great. Someone loaned me a couple of them, and now I've thrown all my ratchet straps away. They always rusted or tangled, or just generally a pain to work with. These things are super fast and get very tight. No rusting to worry about and easy to release. I use them mostly for hauling motorcycles.

Lifts the Power chair into the truck.
This is a great tool. I like that it locks and worked to make a great lift mechanism to put a power chair in the back seat of a neighbor in his truck.

Very handy
I keep it in the bed of my F150, so in the winter when I need to take my propane tanks to be filled, this helps me to contain them from rolling all around.

These are handy as a shirt pocket
They need to put at least 20' of rope in it. But, the ratchets are a fair balance between economy and functionality. If they made it out of complete steel, the units could be smaller in size and that would be good, as the units are a bit bulky. However, the ease of strapping loads down (or whatever) makes these worth the purchase and putting up with the size of the ratchets. I can't help but wonder why they don't offer a completely steel ratchet (weight, cost, or what). I'd think there would be others, as well, that worry about the cast and plastic enough to create a market for such an offering. Maybe they do, but I haven't found them. Plus, the units could be smaller in size I'd think. I took one star because they only put 8' of rope in it. I have to change them out immediately. These haven't failed to hold as of yet.

Nice Rachet
Good Price and solidly built. I purchased it to use to lift car tires from the ground to the tire rack located 5' above the ground. It works well.

Perfect for lifting winter tires on a high tire rack
I bought this after watching a YouTube video about using it to mount winter tires on a high tire rack. I risked injury lifting my tires so I got a regular pulley last year. The problem with a regular pulley is that you can't let the rope go! With this ratcheting pulley, you can pull and stop and the ratchet holds the tire up. The included rope was a bit short for my application, but I had a nylon rope lying around which works just as well.
