I love my new kettle. Ok so my first thought was OMG! It’s very light weight, it is in fact the lightest kettle I have ever owned. It is also very plasticky to touch. However, the positives so outweighs the feel of it and Kenwood are not in the habit of using inferior materials that don’t serve their purpose! It looks great in my kitchen. It holds a lot of water and being lightweight to start with means it’s not too heavy with the water in. It pours beautifully, a wide spout but it doesn’t splash everywhere. My first couple of cups tasted a little plasticky but that has now disappeared. I waited a week to write this as I wanted to see how it performed. I don’t understand the people who mention the noise of the kettle boiling. For me it’s a kettle what do you expect? I find it reassuring to hear it. It’s not overly loud, it’s what I personally expect to hear of a boiling kettle, you can still have a conversation in the kitchen when it’s boiling. It’s like anything else you sort of get used to it so much so I don’t always notice when it’s turned itself off having boiled. There is a clear indication on the side of how much water there is in it, which is much better than my old one which was under the handle. The lead is good in as much that it coils around the base and as long as you pop it in the cut out bit on the rim of the base (I initially didn’t and thought I had a wobbly kettle) it then lies flat. My old one was on its last legs, I looked to replace it as I’m still using the toaster. However, my thinking was the new kettle will make the old toaster look old! Also at some point that would probably need to be changed as well. So, I looked and saw this as a different design to my old one and I love Kenwood products. I also picked the slate grey instead if black this time. I’m now thinking of replacing the toaster with the matching Kenwood toaster. Time will of course tell if it lasts a song as my old De’Longhi which I had 7years! It was brilliant, but I just fancied a change of style and this fits the bill! Very pleased.

It performs quite nicely. I was surprised how quick is heats up small quantities of water, saving time and energy.The reviews I read before buying mention water spots on the shining parts, I haven't got that problem.A product that would definitely recommend.

Fast, quiet, well made, good looking. What’s not to like.

Nice kettle. Fast boiling.

We were looking for a kettle to replace our Russell Hobbs Luna kettle and opted to try this Kenwood kettle as it was reported to be quiet. Although it was reasonably quiet (but not, to our ears, as quiet as the RH Luna) we didn't like the look of it. I suppose we should not have been surprised from the description, but it was just so, well, ... gross. Now, this is a matter of personal taste but it was so much chunkier than our old RH Luna (see photo) and bear in mind that they are the same capacity (1.7l). We returned it and bought another RH Luna.

This kettle functions well and is economical to use.
