Best towels, and I've done some experimenting
First of all, if you're looking for quality towels, Turkish cotton is by far the best quality, not Egyptian or any other source, nor do any other buzz words matter. Turkish cotton is the really soft stuff that in some cases can feel almost velvety. That said, even Turkish cotton can be bad quality, especially the stuff that doesn't have any absorbing qualities. These towels are perfect: perfect softness with perfect absorption. One thing I've noticed is once you pass a certain threshold for softness you quickly lose absorbing abilities, these are perfectly balanced for a combination of the two. I've tried a number of towels over the years, even found some I didn't think could be topped, but these did just that.

My Two Month Review
Prior to choosing this towel set I'd been using Superior brand Egyptian cotton towels. So my review below is mostly a comparison to that towel set.The GoodI found these towels to be incredibly soft. After washing a few times, they still feel plush and even got a bit softer over time. If you like a really soft towel feel, I think you'll love these. They also dry quickly. I use them in the morning and they are dry by the evening. The BadI thought these towels were thin. I prefer a thick towel. Because of this, the towel doesn't absorb well. Or at least it takes more time to get completely dry. And the towel feels soaked after I dry off from the shower. But to my prior point under the good, the towel does dry quickly. I guess that's the benefit of a thinner towel.OverallI like these towels because they are so soft. The plush feel makes up for the thinness. The price was great too. So I can replace them more often and feel I'm wasting money. If you like plush towels, you'll love these. If you like thick towels, keeping searching.

Great value ...
I bought two towel sets in gray. Because they were gifts, I read most of the reviews before purchasing, especially those with one and two stars. A couple reviewers said the colors were inconsistent between sets, but I didn't find that at all--the two sets I purchased matched perfectly. A couple others complained the towels were thin and flimsy. But, I found, because they came shrink-wrapped, after the first wash they plumped right up and are luxurious and soft. If you're buying as a gift, definitely wash them first. The only thing I find about them is that the sizing is not U.S. standard. The bath towels are a little larger than you'd find in say, Penneys, and the hand towels are longer and slightly narrower. But they're beautiful and, for the price, make a perfect gift to anyone (but especially to big and tall men).

ANOTHER UPDATE -- NICE SURPRISE!
love the color of the towels. I've ordered them twice. Both times I've been sent lovely towels, but the facecloths are a different brand and color. So very frustrated. The towels are Turkoise brand but the facecloths are Chakir. Who wants to pay for this? I have tried to buy theselovely items two times and been sent items that are not as described. What a shame...UPDATE: The seller has corresponded with me and expressed regret about the difference between the towels and the facecloths. I returned the items and received a full refund. I've upgraded my review from one star to three stars because of the seller's prompt response. I would happily have given five stars if the towels and facecloths were the same brand, color, and quality, because the towels are really quite thick and the color is rich and beautiful. Also, I received the towels in a very timely manner. I would buy these again if I could be sure I would receive items of one brand and color.ANOTHER UPDATE: I've upgraded my review to 5 stars. The seller sent me a set of lavender towels at no charge. I did not request them, and the seller did not ask me to update my review. I'm very impressed with the generosity and integrity of the seller. THANK YOU KINDLY, SELLER!

Rather disappointing...
My set of towels arrived with big snags/pulls on both of the bath towels, so that's the first strike. Secondly, they've been through seven wash and dry rounds now, and the amount of lint is still unbelievable. They still cannot be used after showering, because they leave tiny lint all over the body. They are a very plush towel, though, but for Turkish cotton, I would expect better absorbency and a whole lot less lint.

Are Chakir and Turkuoise actually the same?
I was surprised to find the texture of the bath towels to be different from the hand towels and washcloths. Then I looked at theattached labels and found that all of thetowels, except the bath towels, were actually from Chakir. They were much softer and a more desirable texture then the bathtowels, which were labeled from Turkuoise.I had ordered a separate set of 4 bath towels from Chakir and tried to order an 8piece set from Chakir so all the towels would be from the same manufacturer, butthe color I wanted was only available fromChakir as a 6 piece set .So I ordered the 8 piece set from Turkuoisehoping that it would match my order of 4bath towels from Chakir. I am disappointedthat the bath towels from Turkuoise do not seem to be of the same quality texture as the rest of the set, and the set of 4 bath towels I ordered from Chakir. How does ithappen that towels from 2 different manufacturers are put together to make aset? I would have preferred the entire set of8 be from Chakir, but why did they offer 8piece sets on only certain colors? EitherChakir and Turkuoise are actually the samemanufacturer, or some third party at adistribution center is making up sets usingproducts from both because Chakir doesn'toffer the 8 piece set in pink. Since their adsdescription were almost identical I wasexpecting Turkouse towels to be of the same texture as Chakir, but they are not. Ithought about returning this set and justordering the 6 piece set from Chakir, butI want the extra washclothes. I am verysatisfied with the texture and quality ofall of the Chakir towels, so I decided tokeep this jumbled up set.
