Replaced the original control valve and works as described. If you are shopping for these, you are probably searching for the 'end all' to a sound you are hearing from the front end. This is to help fix the suction issues of the front wheel hubs for 4 wheel drive if the ($35) Ford solenoid is working fine. Now, with that said, if you replace both as I did, and the sound still persist intermittently. It may NOT be the 4 wheel drive suction...Let me explain. The bottom of the truck is like a tuning fork. At the right RPMs, it can cause a rattle for just seconds at a time due to possible loose skid plates and heat plates. I heard the sound from accelerating from a stop sign, or slowly driving uphill, especially pulling a trailer. The sound of a quick rattle or growl. The sound was near the front end, at the cross pipe of the exhaust running parallel to front bumper. There is a heat plate connected on top of the pipe. It is welded on one side, and a hose clamp is used on the other side of a foot long plate to attach it to the pipe. The hose clamp was missing...rusted off. That was it! I put a new hose clamp around the exhaust pipes heat plate and tightened down the other end. Whisper quiet accelerations from stop and driving uphill now. Still, if the vehicle's issue is a suction problem, this important $10 part is the answer to many! There is a tiny nickel piece inside that could get stuck in the open or close position over the years that causes the hubs to partially engage if not working properly. Good luck!
