Kiddo LOVES this book Great pictures and colors. Solid binding.

Bought for kindergarten and he has a book to grow with! Now in first grade and learning to read and learning to love books it’s a great one to have! Sometimes he just looks at pictures and sometimes I read it to him!

My son absolutely loves this book. The whole family has learned so much about dinosaurs, including how to correctly pronounce their names. There is a good variety of types of dinosaurs, interesting facts, and great pictures.

We have had this book for several years now and we love it. We don't read it everyday anymore but use it as a reference and for random moments of interest. It is a keeper and my son loves it.On the down side, there is one illustration we could have done without. I think it was a velociraptor and baby Dino just hatched...and there is blood dripping down the baby's head after the raptor cracked it with its beak. I mean, really. It freaked my kids out. It even made me uncomfortable. They could have drawn any number of other illustrations for that.Aside from that, we do enjoy the book and just avoid that page bc it's creepy. There are a lot of good things about it- like the information and size comparisons to humans. There are lots of tidbits and it lists what fossils have been found for each Dino, which I find fascinating.I def recommend it...just watch out for that page if your kids are sensitive to baby animals being eaten. Just saying. I'm picky about what books in willing to move every two or three years and this one is in my list of keepers.

My 8 year old son is a lover of all things dinosaur, but he is very picky about his dinosaur books. When he finds a dinosaur book he likes, he reads it over and over. He has come across a few books that have frustrated him if they have inaccuracies within a text, or the illustrations contradict the text of the book. So I was worried about ordering this book online without being able to preview it myself. This book is a hit with my son! He reads it every night before bed. The illustrations are colorful and the text is organized and not too busy. Each dinosaur name includes a pronunciation guide which we all appreciate. This book is a Guided Reading Level S, which is a little challenging for my son despite his high reading skills. However, he enjoys reading the captions and side notes himself. Sometimes he will attempt to read the main text himself, or we will read it together. I would highly recommend this book for all kids who love dinosaurs.

My 2 year old nephew is really into dinosaurs and I got this for him more so him and his parents could practice the pronunciations of the dinosaurs. Now he loves repeating the dinosaur facts. My sister in law was really impressed and happy with the book. It’s quite large and heavy, but good and sturdy.

I was debating between this book and "Dinosaur!: Dinosaurs and Other Amazing Prehistoric Creatures as You've Never Seen Them Befo (Knowledge Encyclopedias)" which is found also here on Amazon. I opted for this one because it looked just as interesting, and was slightly less costly.When it arrived I was sure it would be a hit but ironically it wasn't, and furthermore the next day my son came home from the library with the other book I had passed over and proceeded to read that one, ignoring his new book I had just gotten for him! go figure.That being said I don't know why he didn't like this one as well and he couldn't really give me a good explanation either...This book is really well done, had a lot of great photos and information but maybe you might consider the other book knowing what my experience was. Still, I can't give it a bad review because it's a great book!
