You can see it in the photo: that long, stupid tube that’s attached to the inside of the lid. Krups says it enhances the flavor of your coffee. I say it’s a nuisance that makes filling the pot with water and pouring it in the tank extremely awkward. It gets in the way. Let’s be real: the hand pour-over/infusion drip method of coffee making doesn’t have such a gimmick and its taste is excellent. I like everything else about this machine: LED clock and message window, actual push buttons so you know you’ve made the right selection, auto turn-off, programmable, fill window, sleek look, not too tall or wide.But, that flavor tube is silly. I’m going to see if a plain, old lid is available to replace it.

We’ve just buried our first Krupas coffee and expresso maker after 27 years, we ordered a new Krups. The first pot after following directions was ok, maybe weak but then on a work day it tasted like plastic, very disappointing. We’re going to try it again and if it smells and tastes like plastic it’s going back! That’s all I got so far!It would be nice to just have a good cup of coffee!UPDATE,We ran several pots of water and lemon juice through the maker and now the coffee is very good, it's quiet and has a tone that lets you know when the coffee is ready!

I was worried about getting a bad coffee maker but this one has to be one of the best investments I’ve made into a coffee maker

Love this coffee maker, it’s very easy to use and makes great coffee! Every Krups brand anything I’ve owned is amazing and great quality, and they actually last years and years!
