Exactly what I needed!
This works exactly as expected and allows me to complete work tasks at home when necessary. The value is great for the cost! Highly recommend.

Plug in Play. Windows 11
Revived CAC reader. Plugged into my windows 11 laptop. Able to log into websites requiring CAC. No download, or update or anything. Has been working fine for 2 months.

FINALLY! A CAC reader that works with my Chromebook!
I've had several CAC readers over the years that have given me different levels of reliability with my Windows and Mac laptops; however, this is the first (and only) CAC reader that seems to work with my Chromebook. It was literally plug-and-play with both my Samsung Chromebook V2 and my Samsung Galaxy Chromebook. Working a lot from home now and it's nice to be able to access my restricted (.mil) sites from my Chromebook with no issues. LOVE IT!

Works well
Does the job, works well. My husband hasn’t complained so that’s a great sign. 😂 Thank you

Smartcard reader
Works as advertised however it was initially very tight to insert and remove the card. It eventually loosened up.

Quality product worked seamlessly with a govt. issue, TAA compliant MacBook Pro.
My previous reader was much less substantial and cracked. Replaced with this model and have been very happy so far. Sturdy, yet thin/small enough in my keyboard/mouse travel pouch. Worked immediately with no setup, downloads, etc. Very happy with this purchase.

Broken on arrival
Nope...Something amiss inside the unit, the internal reader was not lined up with opening and would not accept card. I flipped the card around (so as to not damage the chip), and managed to get the card to slide in, heard a "snap" and the internal reader snapped into alignment. Figured all that was needed.Nope...Internal reader was very tight. It read my card a couple of times then quit working. I noticed my card now has GROOVES in it from the reader, and I feared the chip was damaged. Packed up the reader and returned it.Tested my card with my old reader, an HID, and it still worked, so good to go there. My HID reader is 4 years old, cards slide in and out with ease, and it always read them, so bought another HID.I thought the brand name IOGEAR implied some quality.Nope...

The Hardware is the Easy Part
I got this to access work websites from home on my personal laptop. The hardware, card reader, itself is the easy part. The software, to include the drivers and certs is another story. You will have to get those from your organization to get this to be functional.Don't give up.Seriously, it's totally worth it once you get it working. Just velcro it to the back of your monitor lid and you're good to go!
