NaRaMax Hair Bun Rats Black 8"

I just got this in, I haven't used it yet but I'm happy with the quality and size.

I use it for bumper bangs and it is the perfect size. It does have the silver snap at the ends however, I use my scarves or bandana right against the clips and pull the hair past the end of the hair rat and you can't see the snaps and I also spray pained them brown. I haven't used it for a bun but I did buy two and snap them together to make that perfect 50's roll all the way around the base of my head for a different look. I have used hair rats as rollers to sleep in and they are very comfortable and give the ends a nice "bump". It's a hair rat you can't really go wrong if you are using it for retro/ vintage styles. I have thick coarse hair and it works just fine and I have used them on a friend with thin fine hair and it worked just as well.

Need instructions on how to use it!

I agree with the other reviewers, the thing is just HUGE! I could not use it to make the bumper bangs I bought it for in its original state. I ended up pulling it apart and reworking the piece so that it has a much smaller cylinder and now it works perfectly. Mine also did not have snaps even though the package description said "Hair Bun with Snap".

this bun shaper/ hair rat was to have snap pieces to form a doughnut. Guess what folks! Both metal snap pieces are female and will never snap together. No, they are not magnetic. They are two divet/hole parts of the snap and no poky outy piece that would complete a snap! So no donut for you! We had to wait extra long for this to arrive so not leaving us a lot of options, we will be removing the metal parts and inserting ribbon. You shouldn't have to modify but what do you expect for made in china....

My fiance loves the whole rockabilly/40's and 50's scene so I thought I would try to learn some if the hairstyles and I found this to be a must have for some of the styles. This is the key to the Betty Paige bumper bangs that are so popular and it works great!!! I bought a couple of them trying to see which variety would work the best and this one is definitely the winner. It is quite easy to use as well. Thank goodness for this hair rat :-)

This is THE product you want to have if you like retro hair styles like Victory Rolls or other types of pin-up hair styles. I have used various types of this product to make buns or create retro looks easily without a lot of teasing and frustrated tears. We all know how difficult it is to mimic the pin-up look. This handy little accessory and some light hair spray makes it easy to create those looks in ten or so minutes. Some of these have a snap on the end so you can make it circular for the now very popular braided sock buns that you see everywhere. I'm sure that after using this product a few times, you won't dread going "pin-up" again. In fact, you might even find yourself doing it for work or just casual days. Good luck!

This was my first time using a rat's tail. I had to watch a tutorial to make sure I was doing it correctly. I had to trim the sides a bit because it's rather long. No worries though because after I roll my hair, I'm able to pin the tail to my head. Then you pull the hair to the edges to cover the ends that you don't want to be visible. Perfection! I love having bangs without really having bangs at all.
