Sound is great...
Sounds great and with the app this has a ton of options. I did not even want phone capability in my helmet...heck...I get on the bike and go riding to get away from the phone/people/conversation ect.But the wife insisted....so I bought one....now that I have it I am starting to like the option to play music or know that if there is an emergency with the family I will get the call not 2 hours later when I stop and check my phone. She says she can't hear any wind noise while I am doing 1̶3̶0̶m̶p̶h̶ 70mph on the interstate.😁

Sena is a scam
I have had my Sena for less than 6 months. One night the USB port just stopped working and it wouldn't stay on for more than 10 seconds at a time. No rhyme or reason. Please save your money. Buy ANYTHING else unless you only want to use it for a month or two

Works ok, but design could be better.
Installation instructions primarily consist of pictures. It would be nice to have something a little more formal.I have found that where the connectors are located under the pads is not ideal. Although I do not feel the connectors, the power connector in my installation ended up being dead center in the back of the helmet. The power connector frequently disconnects, when putting the helmet on or taking it off, which is really a bad design and frustrating as all hell. I will put heat shrink tubing over it, shrink it and zip tie it at each end to prevent it from coming undone. In my opinion, the power connector could’ve been somewhere else where it doesn’t get jostled around when putting on the helmet. Sound quality is OK although it doesn’t blow me away.

Review for SRL EXT model
This system is designed to fit certain Shoei helmets but I found it worked easily for my HAX Force helmet. What the description doesn't mention is that it has an external battery that also mounts outside the helmet so you have two items to attach. Should give longer battery life though.I like the design and look of the Sena headset and found the buttons fairly easy to operate. This headset has a multitude of functions and the sound can be adjusted for base, treble and mid ranges. You do need to download an app to set the variable functions on your computer as the wifi and phone set ups where not functional at this time but apparently will be in the future. I found this to be straight forward and fairly simple to do.Included with the headset is a quick start manual but you really need to download the full owners manual from the internet, It is quite lengthy as it gives good instructions for mounting and lots of pages explaining all the functions and settings. It is well written using good language. This headset can be paired with other other makes of headsets which is a nice feature if they have hands free blue tooth functionality.I think it would take a bit of use to get comfortable using all the features of this headset but one thing I really like is it has voice control and quite a few things can be accomplished just by speaking the commands. The manual claims you can communicate with other Sena users at a bit over a mile away if it's clear between you. I couldn't verify this as I only have the one headset but that is a good amount of range.I really like the sound quality of this headset. I have two other brands of headsets but removed one of them from my favorite helmet and mounted this one on it as it has quickly become my best headset.I see from other reviews that they had issues with it working long term and if this is an issue I will update this review. So far it is working just fine.

Wouldn't turn on
Wouldn't turn on. Called sena and they said to return it. Sena tech support is not US based by the way. I'll update this review when I get the replacement.OK, got the replacement and it did exactly the same thing. Would not turn on once installed. The good news is that I figured out why. The wires are too short. When you install it per the instructions and when you put the pads back in it pulls the battery connector loose.I'm guessing that when they designed this they used a small helmet. They should have used an XL.Another symptom of the problem is that the microphone won't reach the center of the helmet chin piece.Sena needs to offer a wire extension kit. Hopefully they'll read this but I doubt it.Still not recommended unless you wear a small size helmet. It can be worked around once you realize what the problem is but it shouldn't have to be.
