The Book of Common Prayer: Gift Edition

Beautiful edition, with quality paper, binding, and marker tape. Perfect for regular use, and will last a long time. Recommend.

My primary issue is with this B.C.P. is that the confession of sin is missing a phrase! In the old B.C.P. it was "And there is no health in us." after "and we have done the things which we ought not to have done." It appears a newer version has dealt with the issue (and I love the addition preceding "and apart from thy grace" which precedes the phrase). This is central, because this is why we need God's grace, and undermines the confession. This is what happens when a publisher does not properly review material.

I got this when my church went to online services (during the pandemic lockdown). It's a wonderful book to have. Well-made, with a nice leather-type cover (not hardback). Good sized type, easy to read. The pages are thin, but that of course helps to keep the thickness and heft of the book down. There is a single attached ribbon to use for marking your place. Everything that is in the BCP in church is in this book. I love having my own copy at home, so I can refer to it whenever I need to.

Great BCP! I like the paper - it isn't thin and doesn't stick together. The print is large enough for old eyes! It has a good, supple leather binding and has RED rubrics! Best bang for the buck!

Beautiful, the type is not too small and dark (excellent printing) excellent quality, printing and paper. Truly a great gift Edition but also for myself. Not too small to read or faint in it's printing.

This is the BCP we've all been waiting for! Finally the rubrics are printed in red as they should be! This book is very similar to the deluxe personal edition that is published directly by Church Publishing, except it is significantly larger and has the rubrics in red as previously mentioned. If we compare this one to the pew edition, it is nearly the same height and width but is still much slimmer. The print is moderately large and I find it easy to read. The content, of course, is the same as any other 1979 BCP. The gilded edges look very nice and it also has a built-in black ribbon bookmark. Overall I'm highly impressed with the quality of this BCP. I highly recommend it!

I am so pleased with my new prayer book. I have a smaller version given as a confirmation gift but it was bonded leather and all the leather had worn off leaving an ugly grey fuzzy looking book. I finally found this genuine leather edition and it is stunning. The print is easy to read for the older individual. If you are thinking of buying a prayer book don’t be fooled into the slightly lower price of bonded leather. In the end you will be disappointed in my opinion. I wish I had found this beautiful edition long ago. It will live much longer than I will.
