Delphi SA10001 XM SKYFi Boombox (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

I already had a Delphi SA1001 XM SKYFI Boombox, for my house. I missed having my music outside, I did have direct TV, and had out door speaker for it.. I have cut back on cost and got rid of my Direct TV. and thought how wonderful to have an extra Boombox outside, so I don't have to keep moving the one inside my home.I bought a used one, It works wonderful and I am enjoying my XM again. Thank you Amazon for such great service in finding me a Delphi SA1001 Boombox and at a great price.

I recently decided to switch from Sirius to XM. I loved my Sirius Audiovox boombox, so I knew that I wanted another boombox for listening to XM. I knew immediately upon taking this product from the box that the quality of the Delphi could not compare to the Audiovox. "What can you do if you have no other choice." I guess if I had not owned an Audiovox boombox, I would not have noticed a difference. Pro: I like that the antenna cable is hidden. Light Con: Bad handle design, person with large hand could have trouble carrying.

I purchased a new Delphi SA1001 XM Boombox on Amazon and it was a great experience; the radio arrived on time and in great shape in time for my out of country vacation. It is great to be lying on a beach in the Carribbean, or crusing the backroads of Mexio with the best programmed and range of music in the world on your boombox.

I can't live or work without my XM radio! It's hard to find Sirius XM players that you can use at home that don't use smart phones (I don't know how to work that stuff!), and also one that fits my SkyFi receiver. I've had two of these same units on which the volume control went bad. I was thrilled to find this one on Amazon, because it's the same as what I had previously, fits my space, fits my SkyFi receiver, and a reasonable price. I hope the volume control continues to work for many years. Even if the manual knob conks out, the remote control should operate it.

This thing is a HUGE dissapointment. There is an awful high pitched tone that you can hear behind the music. The only way to avoid it is to turn up the music so loud that it drowns the buzz out. If you listen to classical or jazz forget about this boombox. If you don't like listening to your music super loud forget about this boombox. It will drive you crazy. Listening to talk on this is awful. The buzzing will drive you crazy. It is like listening to a distant am station. I can't believe this thing is being sold on the market. It needs to be recalled and the problem needs to be fixed. Many people have had problems with this box and Delphi refuses to acknowledge the problem even though they know about it and have received many complaints. Don't buy this boombox. It is a waste of time and money.

The unit interfaces well with the Delphi XM receiver, but does not provide good sound quality. It sounds like a cheap radio because that's what it is. The speakers are cheap. The casing is cheaply made and my unit did not work with batteries as promised. The design is great, but the sound quality is very poor.If you're thinking about getting one because you ALREADY have a Delphi XM Radio receiver, then it's not a bad investment. But you may want to wait and see what the future holds because surely the XM Radio folks are going to provide us more quality units to listen to their great broadcasts.

Basic player (and the old style radio) but has nice quality sound. This is my second one (still have the first) but was tired of lugging as I have one in my gym. I use the dockable radio so I don't have multiple subscriptions and as the radios last forever, I didn't want to have to buy a whole new set of radios and portable players. Even if you don't own an older style radio, picking up a deal like this with the radio and boom box is a good way to go.

It works ok, but when I turn it on there is a loud arcing sound. That is why I gave it only a three star.
