Well, I guess this is a case of "you get what you pay for"! I had somehow thought this would be a more substantial RUBBER mat...but it is instead more like a piece of black felt (the underside) with a rubber coating brushed on top. Almost like a sheet of insulation... and that's why I am keeping it; I will NOT use it under my grill but instead for a totally different project. BACK on the hunt for a more substantial grill mat since in this southern climate, this mat will NOT stand up to our rains and humidity.

Material is very thin and cheap. Will make do since camping season is just about over. Really wouldn't recommend

I'm using this as a cover for my stove top. All I had to do was cut to fit, I lay it felt side up. I wait for the stove to be almost completely cool before placing the cover back on. I like that I can place items directly from the stove on this cover.

This mat is great! It actually catches the oils that the oil trap can not capture. Totally clean and it saves my porch wood from getting dirty. Highly recommended.
