Good value for money
Not the highest quality kit in the world but for £11 it's great value for money, and it did the job I needed it to do which was fixing a stripped thread on a BMW trailing arm bolt hole, so it gets 5 stars. Saved me a fortune and a massive headache.

Does the Job
Seems decent. Firstly, this is identical to the more expensive version, “wolf boy” or something similar, also available on Amazon but for double the price. The kits are identical even down to the instructions. Save your money. I bought this to repair the caliper slide pin threads on a hub from a VAG group car, is this might apply to anyone with a VW/Audi or Skoda. The threads had stripped out the hub. The kit was good to use. The drill bit was sharp and the right size. The tap was the right size and seemed to get through the hub fine. The only complaint is there’s no tap wrench so I had to invent something from a socket set. But it worked. Helicoil went in and tab snapped nicely. Just waiting on a new bolt and hopefully all will be well! First time in my mechanic-ing experience I’ve had to use one and would highly recommend a set in anyone’s garage for a “Just in case.” This set is specific for M9 as most sets don’t have M9 in them.

Saved my RockShox forks!
The brake calliper mount on my RockShox front suspension was stripped. This made the forks unusable. ChatGPT recommended that I give this a go though! I didn't have high hopes: didn't think I'd actually be able to get the thing installed. Turned out to be really simple. Hadn't ever done anything like it before, but in it went, real simple. Thought that getting the threaded bit in would be real hard. No, it just went in. Strangely, the packet doesn't have any fitting for doing this bit (there's the bit which puts the thread in... but you need a t-wrench to operate it. So make sure you've got something that can do that... but I just used a normal wrench. And it seems to work! Proper magic. Well impressed.

Not bad
Does the job , but don’t use the drill that comes with it. In my opinion is to large and will not give you the tread you need . Hence only 4 stars

very good for price
Very good for the price, was a little worried as some of the reviews were negative, but people dont understand tap size drill bits and helicoil drill size bits,if you are tapping a hole for m12 you need a 10.2mm bit if you are putting a helicoil in you need a 12.3mm drill bit (wich did the job well on a brake disk)the actual tap supplied is marked for the helicoil 12mm 1.25 not the taps actual size,(I think its 14mm 1.25),the tap did the job well and did 3 holes so did the drill bit, just use cutting compound with tap or you will have rough thread.

Warning
Don't recommend using the kit as provided. The drill bit is far too large for the intended use, making the threads too loose. It's also a really cheap drill bit and struggled even on aluminum, buy a Draper, Bosch or better for a few quid. The professionals use their own drill bits, or buy the expensive kits with better drills included. Turns out tapping a hole is not as simple as buying a cheap kit. The Google AI and the drill size charts show for a 12mm hole, the drill should be just 10.2mm, the drill in the kit is 12.5mm, which would be closer to a clearance hole (13mm) not the size of drill needed for the tap. Reasons for this is less torque is needed to tap a hole with less chance of the tap breaking, but leaves far smaller threads and a bigger hole, this is not what we want with vital automotive parts. Double check on the internet and ask the Google AI,for the correct drill size before drilling anything. I'll now have to try add a Time-Sert or go up a size to a 14mm bolt. The tap was pretty good, cutting with ease, the coils went in ok, first one broke, it didn't like thread locker, without thread locker it went in, but the hole is still too big and the bolt loose, due to the incorrect drill size in the kit. Buy cheap, buy twice..

Repaired oil drain plug successfully.
Arrived in perfect condition. Used it to repair the threads on the oil pan of my 2004 Audi A4 1.8T. Included drill bit was sharp and accurate. I used a shop vac along with a long curved pick tool to clear out all the metal shavings. It doesn't include a way to drive the thread tap so I used an 11mm 12-point ratcheting wrench which fit the square end of the tap perfectly. The helicoil threaded in very nicely and instead of using the punch to break the tang, I used needle nose pliers to break it and remove it to avoid it getting stuck in the oil pan. You may need to get a new drain plug with a larger diameter head that will adequately cover and seal the newly drilled hole. I was able to torque the drain plug to the specified 22-ft/lbs without issue. I would recommend this kit for this purpose.
