Fill it
So at first it wasn’t working bc I was using their soap/vinagre mixture. I just put straight up apple cider vinagre and pretty much filled. I think that helps permeate the smell for them but not a bother to us.

Works as intended
Used with drain fly lure. Flys go in the holes and don’t come out. Discreet appearance. Is a bit too costly but is the only one available of its kind.

Holes too big to capture all
I have problems with fruit flies when I purchase bananas. So, instead of making the "cone of death" I wanted to try something a little less "home made" looking. The first problem is that I bought BLACK - and when you use it, you are unable to see the flies that have died in the solution - so WHITE is a better choice, although I chose black because of my kitchen counter colors. Also noted is that this does not do the job as well as the "cone of death" mainly because the holes for the flies to enter are too big and they can escape the dreaded solution of vinegar and dish soap. My friends have the zappers, vacuums, and the sticky paper type which may have better results. I purchased this one because it was less "unsightly", but it is not as effective - but I do catch some flies. So if you have a "big" problem, this product is not the right solution. Try something else. It is well made, it just doesn't work as well as other solutions.

Great!
Put apple cider vinegar with a little bit of Dawn dish soap, and you’ll catch those gnats!

It's a nice thought.
Simple design, easy to use, and not a problem for young children (no chemicals required). But the fruit flys I have do not like it. They'll go to it but they will not go inside and drown as they are to supposed to. The flys do enjoy hanging out on top but that's not the point.
