Doctor Dreadful - Organ Grinder

This is such a fun thing to do with the kids, they get to mix the candy formula it looks gross which makes more laughter lol, they love the pouring in the molds its a gelatin and sets up quick in the freezer (10min) the only thing that is a downfall on this is the goo formula it is not tasty , it was not a hit in the other candy molds my kids thought it ruined the cool yumminess of the candy. you would be better getting the true candy slim from the store to use as a gooey filler :) the kit comes with two molds and in each mold are the bug molds as well you can use the organ mix or the bug mix for each other and we found that when you mix the 4scoops of powder you need to use at least 6 scoops of water and the hotter the better of water. the kits says to use 4 to 4 but then the mix is thick and does not set up as nice

Yes this is a kids toy - but I bought it for myself! I purchased this product to make fun treats for my Halloween party. I had a ton of fun making these but I will say to get a full tray of them out I had to spend quite a bit of time on them. Made for kids, it was easy to use as I expected but I was happily surprised to find the end product looked really great too. The only complaint I had was that although the gummy portion of the end product was pretty tasty, the purple filling for the 'organs' was pretty gross. Sadly, the pieces I filled with the purple filling never got eaten because they were pretty nasty. I still love the product despite the not so great purple filling because after all, it was more for fun and looks than a party snack. I would buy it again, even just for the fun of making them.

After much begging from my 7-year-old, I finially broke down and bought this and another of the Doctor Dreadful toys. I wish I hadn't! While I'll admit he loved the concept of them, it was too hard for him to mix them on his own and the actual gummy treats taste pretty awful. I ended up doing most of the work...the plastic is cheap, the molds don't seal properly, and while we eventually were able to crank out a few for him to try, it's way too much work for something that doesn't taste good (and the powder mixes hardly last at all - you really can't make many candies before needing some refill mixes.) All in all, he had fun for a couple of hours (well, he had fun watching me do the work!), but I wouldn't recommend this...spend your money on something more durable and less messy...then pick up some cheap gummy fruit snacks at the grocery store and you'll be much happier.

This is a fun toy, easy to use, and makes small amounts so my son is not tempted to eat too much of the sweets. Of course it's not the healthiest, so he only gets to eat a small amount. Luckily, he enjoys making it more than eating and the mess was not as bad as I anticipated! lol

Flavors are good tasting. You need to find the right of powder and water so the molds are perfect. Directions aren't accurate on the molds. However I do recommend buying this. Quite fun flavor for bugs are really good even though they maybe difficult to make. Great toy for children to play with.

These things really haven't come very far from when we were kids, so it's about as good as you remember. My kids liked to play with it once, and that's about all the fun we're going to be getting out of it. Nothing is edible (not really...you know what I mean.).

My son loved this toy. He was very excited to see it Christmas morning and wanted to make his own candy right away. The assembly was very easy and my son(who is five) needed very little help making his organ grinder candy.

My son says "it is very fun to make, but the food is not very appetizing." He had a lot of fun with it, but it was a bit messy.
