The Eye
Put it on a post on the porch to keep the woodpeckers from making holes in the posts. It works great.The line we used broke and in a few days they were making holes. Put it back and they stopped.

Easily rusts and does not work
I bought this to scare away herons from my pond. I watched as the herons flew in, stepped into the pond and could not care less about it. The big eye was useless. Within a month it got rusted. If you look carefully you can see the rust. It looks worse when it is in front of you. Moreover, it costs way too much.I tried many things to keep herons away and nothing worked except an air crow. I have had the air crow for a year now and there has not been another heron since.

Does not spin easily
The look is great the swivel does not spin well.

Beautiful, but our Heron is not bothered by it.
Love the look and ease of assembly. The Great Blue Heron wasn't bothered by it. I bought two.

Did not work to keep heron from my fish and definitely not stainless steel as advertised. Here some pics

Rusted within a month
Disappointed that this heron deterrent which is designed to hang over a koi pond outdoors turned out to not be water proof and rusted within a month of installation. Not so shiny anymore. Hopefully it will still keep the local heron at bay but time will tell.

Unique Design
I received my spinner today and was surprised to see such a unique design and substantial material. I can see how this just might work!Herons have taken 6 of my fancy goldfish and this is war.I cannot deal with netting as it blocks out my Green Frogs and that won't work!I have hope for the effectiveness of this spinner because of the unusual design.Time will tell and Ill report again after using it for a while.

Disappointing design for the $
Too early to tell if it will work- will add a second review later.Poor design for the $$$. The steak is light metal tubing fit together with plastic joints. Caution… They fit together loosely in places and the steak will fall apart while you’re carrying it. Found out the hard way when half fell off and metal end hit my toe.The way mine arrived, once you put the steak down into the ground the spinner is IN the water. I had to remove the fishing line and re-tie at a shorter length. Wish it came with recommendations for where best to place and how high the eye should be off the ground/from water surface……
