Hongdian Black Forest Max Fountain Pen, Titanium-Coated Fine Nib Chinese Knot Engraving Smooth Writing Pen with Converter and Metal Pen Case Set

I love this pen! Solid, a perfect weight, feels excellent in hand (I do not post my pens). It’s a big, slight chonk of a pen that feels substantial. The engraving on the barrel feels really cool. It writes very smoothly (M nib, in this case). My only complaint is that the nib is a NAIL: no feedback whatsoever (which could be a win for someone else). Awesome value, great pen.

This is a fantastic pan, especially at this price point. The all-metal construction is very solid. The screw-on cap posts nicely, and the pen has a nice weight and feel. The black finish is flawless, and looks like it will be durable. The medium nib writes a consistent line and has a subtle amount of feedback that is appreciated, it definitely writes well straight out of the box. The design has subtle hints of the uber-expensive G von FC pens that I’ve always admired.

Fantastic pen for the price. I have been doing fountain pens for years, and this pen, at this price, is really hard to beat, it writes and behaves, and even looks like a pen 2 or 3x it's price. Very happy with that. The one part that bugs me, and I was very curious about this, was the grip that is advertised as being rubber...well, mine is not rubber, but rather a typical hard plastic. I was looking forward to the additional grip of a rubber grip/section, but mine was a disappointment in that regard. Otherwise, highly recommended pen!

I just received my Hong Dian Black Forest Max Fountain Pen. First of all, it feels like a much more expensive pen, and equally looks the part. The engraving is very intricate, but does it write? Oh, yes, it writes so smooth and I chose the extra fine nib and it is tuned perfectly. It is top heavy (I always post and this pen posts well) meaning the weight is above the grip, which means the nib feels very light. You could write all day and not tire. I filled it with Diamine Blue/Black and wrote several long paragraphs without a skip, scratch, just a constant flow of ink and the first line looked as good as the last line. Highly recommended!

This pen feels natural in my hand, the nib is very easy to replace, or change, for different writing styles. Honestly, I don’t get why other pens are so expensive when Hong Dian makes a great line of affordable pens. If you’re a collector you’ll probably move on, but if you’re a poor writer, this company makes great pens just for you. Check them out.

This one makes it easy to write on the harder stock paper. I purchased this because I love the brand and the weight it has when you write.

After good reviews online I thought I'd give Hong Dien a try. I may have elected the wrong nib to start. I bought a EF nib. As delivered it barely wrote. I had to open the tines and polish the tip. But it still doesn't produce a uniform script. I've retired the pen. Perhpas a fine nib would have been a better choice.

This is an absolutely beautiful writing pen and equally beautiful to write with with an exquisite feel of natural wood and because I'm a Master Carpenter I truly appreciate it. I purchased the pen with a fine nib and is nothing short of excellence with the soft feel and never skips or has hard starts, and in all honesty it rivals some of my $500.00 pens. My only serious complaint and displeaser is I was charged $18.00 for shipping which was $13.00 more than I was told by Amazon. I very very dissatisfied in the dishonesty in the description of Amazon on shipping cost and given how many pens I have bought from Amazon, it leaves a very bad taste. I have many Hongdian pens and not one has disappointed me, they make fantastic pens at a remarkable price.

Smooth F nib with metal cap. The wooden barrel is easy to hold as well. The overall weight is well balanced and no fatigue for writing. Really enjoy it.
