Hooded Scarves to Crochet: 5 Easy Designs You Can Finish in a Weekend

I enjoy knitting and crocheting and wanted a pattern to make hooded scarves.

I bought this used from an amazon seller. It was in excellent condition .It has a few patterns, but I like the one on the cover the best.

I liked all the hooded scarves in the book, and I am almost finished with the Warm and Woodsy, Camouflage, one that I am making for myself. I have a light weight olive-green coat that will go with it well. I also made a slouch hat out of the same Camouflage yarn that Is used for the scarf. I had to get an extra skein, of course. The patterns all seem easy to do, and the yarn used in the pictures and patterns, Red Heart Super Saver, is easy to find in the stores in my area. If the finish product seems too scratchy, one can put it in the dryer on low (fluff) with a fabric softener sheet for a short time, and it will soften the item.

I actually purchased the book with the intention that I would be making the whole scarf, hood and all. However, I liked the scarf without the hood for the one project and did not feel that adding a hood would enhance its look. I used some "I Love This Yarn" from Hobby Lobby that had some sparkle to it. It was very elegant looking. I'm on my second scarf and once again probably will not add the hood. I like how the hood is added after you have completed the scarf itself. This scarf can be used to keep you warmer or just for a fashion touch because it has a very open pattern. They make up quick too. A nice gift to give away.

the patterns do not include the graph. I think that would help to undestand how to make some of the scarves

I like that this takes the guesswork out of how to make a hooded scarf. I have made them in the past with different yarns but not of them work up as quickly as I can tell these ones will. I will likely not used the recommended colours I think they're rather bland and boring, but it's a start! And I may adapt them to fancier yarns and see what I come up with. So, basically, this book of patterns will be a jump off point for bigger and better :)
