ViewSonic PG703W 4000 Lumens WXGA HDMI Networkable Projector for Home and Office

Brightness is fabulous
I like having a remote control for the power and keynote adjustment. The brightness is terrific. I would like to have been able to adjust image perspective from the 4:3 ratio (which I could do with a previously loaned LCD projector from another manufacturer). Looks like a combination of the zoom and moving the table on which the projector sits is the only way to use the whole screen that I have.

Itโs okay
Iโve got two problems with this projector. The height adjustment is laughably shallow. I have to always set the peojector on books or boxes to get the right height because the adjustment is so small. The lens zoom is also negligable. This projector has a long throw distance. You have to set it pretty far away to get a decent size image, because the lens zoom for making the image larger is a joke. Got it for the 4,000 lumens because so many rooms donโt have a way to dim lights only by the screen, so Iโm often using the projector in full light situations. So, brightness is terrific (hence the 4,000 lumens), but cโmon people, the joke of a height adjustment and lens zoom is pretty bad.

Reasonably priced large Video projector works with DVD, camera, laptop, and most any video source, presentation or entertainment
I love this projector! While I have a OLED 65" TV it does not have 3D, and it was super expensive. I keep that OLED TV in my living room and most TV and movies I watch there. In my basement though, I have a huge collection of DVD's almost exclusively devoted to Japanese anime. I've been collecting since the late 1990's and I've got so many I've not watched half of them (although some I've watched a few times as favorites). I have a 48" back projection TV down there and have used that, but it has problems now with some of the colors. This is perfect, I can set it between the two recliner chairs I have down there on a stand and project it on the wall. I bought a big piece (48" X 64") of roll stock white paper from an office supply store, and taped to a slightly larger cardboard, that I cut off a mattress box. To prevent bleed through for the letters on the cardboard, I spray painted it silver and put the white paper over that. It actually works rather well and I have an instant 80" TV.The connections are just perfect for what I need, there's a couple HDMI connectors for a DVD player and a streaming source like ROKU or Fire TV. The speaker is OK, but nothing special, however you can separately source the sound from the DVD player to amplified speakers. This has something none of my other equipment has, an S-Video connection like my 1995 camcorder uses and so I can play my videos on the big screen from that as well. It also has VGA as like a lot of these projectors it's frequently used for conference rooms. Today, everyone goes to the conference room with a laptop and either someone plugs in locally, or someone networks in to display on the screen. It has an Ethernet port for that connectivity. Since DLP is so very bright (much improved from a few years ago I might add), it can be used easily in fully bright rooms. Today they may use flat screens, or LED projection, or LCD projection or DLP as the projected type. This uses DLP, and while not as long a light life as LED, it can last up to 15000 hours. To put that in perspective 2080 hours is a working year at 8 hours a day, five days a week. So if you used this 40 hours a week, you might get a bit more than seven years life, so not too bad. While LED is more efficient, and you could probably get a better resolution for the money, it is much dimmer and hard to use in a lighted room. The unit comes with a remote and has easy to use controls on top if you want to do manually, including zoom and focus. Maybe because they are less common than HDMI it included a VGA cable. It has height adjustment on the bottom in case you are not mounting it on the ceiling. Plus the compact size you could easily take this on sales calls and connect your presentation to a laptop. The projection is adjustable enough that you could link it to a huge screen if the room is big enough for a learning or sales presentation. Recommended for home and business.

Our first experience with an item like this, and it has been great
This is our first projector, so I have no comparison experience, if you'll bear that in mind. This has been very fun for our family. We've used it both inside and out.Inside, it worked just fine on a white wall. I've used it for a couple of meetings in my home office, which isn't particularly large, and it was very clear and rich. But we've gotten the most use of it watching movies, and that has been a blast. It's very easy to move and hook up anywhere. We put it in the great room, again projecting onto a wall. 12' away seemed to be the perfect ratio of color and size for us.Outside, we used our house wall, but we have vertical wooden accents that distorted the picture a bit, but we enjoyed it so much we're looking for a screen that will work outdoors. We did have a canopy over the patio so no direct light. The weather still hasn't settled into summer yet, but when it does, our usually family weekly BBQ will become BBQ & a movie. Eco mode seems to work best at nite, with a lot less heat and fan noise (although it's not terribly loud in the first place).Ours had a great manual that came with it. Normally an online manual is fine, but not having any prior experience with this type of thing, having a good manual to reference was a great touch. The controls are extremely easy to access and clearly marked, as are all the plug ins. Fan noise, well again I have no comparison, but it seemed relatively quiet to me, and it must be effective because the unit had no heat issues.I admit this was an intimidating adventure for us, but it really is doable for the average person, and at the current price, is affordable for the average family.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - many things you buy every day will generate a small donation to the charity of your choice. Great Color
Great color, and a super bright image make this ViewSonic projector perfect for presentations. The controls are simple, and the networking feature adds convemience. The sound quality is really good for a single speaker. It sounds about as loud as a television set.

Works fine as a home projector
I use this at home to project movies on the wall during kids' parties and family events, including home movies and it works well for that. In fact, it's probably overqualified for the job. But it does it.
