I plugged my docking station but my screens aren’t coming up. Do I need drivers?

Yes, this dock requires the DisplayLink Manager software to be installed for both macOS and Windows. Once installed, you will also need to set permissions in macOS for the displays to work. ChromeOS is natively supported, no drivers required.

Can I use more than 1 monitor at a time?

Yes, this dock supports up to 3 extended monitors in addition to your laptop display, even with Apple M1/M2/M3 computers. If your computer does not support display through USB-C, you can still connect two additional monitors through this dock

Can I play media content such as Netflix, Disney+, HBO etc. on macOS?

No, our docking stations that use DisplayLink technology will not play most protected content.

On macOS, why do I need to enable “screen recording” permissions for the monitors to work?

This permission is required for the DisplayLink driver to access the pixels it needs to extend the screens in macOS. “Screen recording” does not send any data or pixels back to DisplayLink or StarTech.com.

When I connect the dock, I only get one monitor to show up. What is wrong?

The drivers are probably not installed or permissions are not enabled. This includes Apple M1/M2/M3 computers. If your computer does not support display through USB-C, you can still connect two additional monitors through this dock.
