Pretty fantastic shoe
I'll preface this review with the admission that this is the first and only "flat-pedal" shoe I've owned, so I can't comment on a comparison. I've coupled them with a pair of Straitline 'DeFacto' pedals. That said; I'm quite pleased with these shoes. The Fit:I wear a 9.5 or 10 in most shoes, and bought a 9.5. The length is spot-on. I have very narrow, low-volume feet. Like AA width; with a skinny midfoot. My feet swam in the shoes initially, but I slid in a second, additional insole and now they fit great. I feel like if you have wide feet, these might be a little on the narrow side for you, but I'm not qualified to say for sure. The toebox is wide, the heel is deep and comfortable and they have good support. The mid-rise ankle looks like I should throw down some cardboard and challenge someone to an old-school 'breakdance' competition, but they do protect my ankles from banging stuff like rocks and sticks.... or crank arms and pedals.... Seems to help keep sand and rocks out too. That's important here in the AZ desert. The laces are literally 2 feet too long, but that seems to be the norm for shoes. I just double bow-tie mine. Haven't caught them in a chain ring yet.The performance:The sole is stiff enough that even after 3-4 hours of pedaling, and perhaps a little bit of Hike-A-Bike, my feet aren't tired. It took a few rides for me to re-train my brain that I wasn't 'hooked' to the bike, and riding with my heels up, on the balls of my feet was a bad plan. I bounced off the pedals frequently. Once I focused on putting my pedal under the arch/ball and dropping my heels down, they work a lot better. I can't say if they stick as well as other shoes (the ones with numbers in the brand) but I can't imagine how others could be that much better. I generally have to physically lift my foot off the pedal to reposition my foot. With my heels low, and toes up, I don't worry for a second my foot will come off in any terrain. Anyone who's ridden in AZ desert knows there's nothing smooth out here. It's all rough.Even after a dozen rides the bottoms literally look like they day they came out of the box, aside from being dirty. There is literally ZERO sign of being smashed and ground into the dozen steel pins on my pedals for over 100 miles of trail. I imagine these will fail at the stitching before the soles die. I may be sacrificing 10% sticky-ness for 100% durability. I'll take that trade all day, every day.Would definitely buy again.

Great shoe
This really is a great shoe. I also have a pair of 5.10 freeride shoes and these work just about as well but were on sale at half the price. I got these to wear when my other shoes get soaked so I have a pair to wear while the others are on the dryer. So far they work great. I even use them on my road bike and trainer because I don't usually ride clipless. The sole is fairly stiff in comparison to a tennis/running shoe, as should be expected, but still very comfortable to walk in. These were also more comfortable right out of the box than any of my other shoes ( 5.10, Shimano, Nike ACG SPD, and Specialized ). I am a Nike and Adidas size 10 or a Europe size 44 and these fit my foot perfectly.

Awesome shoes
I got these on a whim in order to try flat pedals for DH riding. I read the reviews and it seemed they come a little small so I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear and they fit perfectly. I normally wear a 10 and the 10.5 was perfect. The extra ankle bone protection is not only functional but very comfortable. The sole is stiff enough to retain good traction on the pedals and yet you can still walk comfortably uphill. Turns out they are so comfortable, I'm wearing them day to day now. I tried to buy another pair they were so good, but the inventory was gone. They even come with extra shoe laces. I can't honestly find a single fault with them, and I'm very picky about my shoes. I will continue to look for another pair. Hopefully they'll come back into Amazon inventory soon.

Great all around mountain bike shoe!
I've been a dedicated Five Ten wearer for the last few years but had been itching to try the new Teva offering for a while, just had to wait until my 5.10 Minaars wore out enough to warrant spending the money on a new pair of biking shoes.Really dig the fit on these, they're a little skinnier than my Five Tens and offer a ton more support along the arch and heel. Heel cup really locks your heel in, feels like my Sidis on my road bike, helps a lot with pedalling. The mid top provides great ankle support when hitting large drops or walking over uneven terrain. The tread pattern works really well which is great since the rubber isnt as sticky as the 5.10 S1 rubber. You dont feel nearly as glued to the pedals as with the 5.10 rubber but the only time I noticed this was climbing rough terrain, when descending I still felt completely locked on to the pedals. One last comparison between these and the Five Ten Minaars I've been riding for a while - these Tevas seem stiffer to pedal, not sure if this is just because my feet dont move around so much in the shoe or if I'm comparing new shoes to 3 year old shoes (likely). Cant recommend these enough! The good:Really great arch supportVery lightweight (5oz less weight per shoe than my 5.10s, both shoes being a size 14).Stiff soleExcellent ankle supportThe bad:Shoes arent glued to the pedals like with Five TensKinda boring look on the black Links Mid, even with the blue laces installed.

Great Sticky Shoe for Flats
Quality is fantastic, very lightweight and water resistant, and I guess the mid height will work for Down-Hill (protects the ankle) for the few times a year that I can go. Can wear them as regular shoes but they are a little stiff in the sole. Sizing: I wear a 10 or 44 and this shoe is true to size. As with most shoes, they feel a little snug out of the box, but one wearing and they are fine. I usually start with very thin socks and as the shoe breaks in can wear a regular sock. Smartwool products for me. The shoes grip like glue to flat pedals. I use flats to improve my skills and the set-up was worth the expense. (Shimano PD-MX80 Saint Pedals). Some riders may prefer the low cut shoe, I purchased the Mid for the protection. Shimano PD-MX80 Saint PedalsTeva The Links Mid Bike Shoe
