On me (very pale, neutral skin tone) I would say the beige colour is actually more flattering of the two, but I still like both. The polish is not shiny, it is a satin effect. It does an excellent job of making nail texture look more even, and disguising any imperfections in the appearance of the nail. The polish goes in evenly, dries quickly and is best after 2-3 coats. It also makes an excellent base coat for other colours should you wish; it protects the nail really well. I have olive skin and found this perfectly suits my nails. It's also a great price! I don't think people would realise you were wearing it if you wore it alone, either. I bought it to test out as a base coat, as my favourite one has been discontinued- and it's working pretty well! I usually take nails off after a day, but I'm trying to keep this on to see how it lasts. My index fingernail paint has chipped on both hands- but this is usual for me! The other nails are still perfect and they'd usualy have chipped by now so I'm guessing this is a good base coat for most people!It is a tiny bit pinker than I'd like- the other one is even pinker- my skin tone is edging towards beige so personally I'd prefer a slightly more yellow tone, as the slightly pink finish is a little unnatural on me. I think more than one coat would look odd on darker toned skin too, but I haven't had a chance to test that out yet.
