This is the cup I've been waiting for
I am in love with this cup. For too long I have been searching for the perfect reusable coffee cup and finally I have found it. I had been looking at keepcup but the glass ones are pretty expensive and I've seen a lot of reviews about leaking and lack of insulation. I also couldn't decide if I needed an 8oz or 12oz size. This Bodum Joy cup comes in a convenient 10z, not too big and not too small. I tend to make coffee a home and bring it on the train. My commute is about an hour and I usually enjoy my drink on the train, but it's still warm when I get to work if I want to save it for then. I've had no problems asking coffee shops to make my drink in it either. The cup is not a flask, if you want something to keep your drink hot for hours you need a flask. However, this cup does a good job of retaining heat for a reasonable time. The lid presses on rather than screws on which concerned me a little at first but as long as you press down firmly it doesn't leak. It has gotten easier to remove the lid with time. The cup isn't completely sealed, there is a drinking flap but this clips into place so it is pretty tip proof. I wouldn't put a full cup into my bag (but you wouldn't with a drink from a coffee shop anyway?) but when I just have a few drops left I feel comfortable putting that in my bag without leaking.Overall I am so pleased, I would definitely recommend this reusable cup!

Simple, plastic though an the lid isn’t entirely waterproof.
This is a good sized plastic travel mug. As a double wall it both protects the hands from hot liquids and keeps the contents hot for a little longer. It is a bit cheap feeling though - but i suppose it’s very practical. Goes through the dishwasher fine as well. The lid fits well but it’s not an overly robust design - it’s more to prevent spills not to prevent leaks. Happily accepted by my local coffee shop as a ‘bring your own’ mug.overall easy to use and effective but watch the lid.

The cap is a bit of a deal breaker, but otherwise, a decent travel mug
I bought this so I could take a normal size cup of coffee with me on my daily commute. I had read other peoples experiences with the cap not making a tight seal on the cup and spillages occurring, but I dismissed this as being just bad luck or improper use as Bodum are a decent brand and I expected better from them.Unfortunately, upon first use, I found that the hard rubber cap really doesn't seem to fit as snugly as you'd expect and indeed the drinking hole is not spill proof, so you do need to be cautious when using this whilst on the move. Each drink through the drinking hole generally seems to result in a very small amount of overspill around the mouth piece, so it does get slightly messy during use.Its not a deal breaker, but I would look around before deciding on a travel mug. Pity too, its a great style and size otherwise.

Being returned
Leaks - yes. It’s pain to seal properly. Tea on a shirt was the last straw.Keeping things hot - very poor indeed. I would make a hot drink, drive 20 mins to the station and get on a train and it was almost luke warm. Heat escapes a lot, but is a great hand warmer if you’re after one of those!I’ve now bought an Invool travel mug that does the job perfectly (and is the same price).

Overall, disappointed
Overall, disappointed with this mug. The lid is tricky to get on and off, whilst it insulates to make the mug cool to carry it does nothing to help keep the drink warm. Yes, I know it's not a flask but other similar mugs do a better job of this. Also the seal on the drinking hole is not water tight.Lastly, I knew it wasn't real glass before buying but still disappointed with the plastic feel of the mug. Was expecting better quality materials from Bodum. Wouldn't buy again.

Exactly the size I was looking for
This actually arrived looking a bit sorry for itself, with scuff all over - see pics. This was no-doubt a product of the minimal packaging, as it was not enclosed but just had a brown cardboard band wrapped around it which seemed very ecological so I'm not minded to really knock-it for that. I struggled to find a plastic travel mug that was a nice compact size, similar to a standard 330ml tea mug as most travel mugs seem to make a feature of being about 500ml but this was too large for me. I wanted something small, easy to carry and easy to slip into a coat pocket when I have my hands full between car and house - this fits the bill perfectly. It has a little clip down lid, it takes a standard sized portion of tea, and it keeps it warm (not hot) for just a long enough duration to drink it comfortably. Hit's the nail on the head for me, so five out of a five.
