Chin Up Bar Chrome

I have a much more versatile over-the doorframe bar but bought this to replace a York chin up bar that broke from over tightening and had begun to corrode. This bar is superior in quality to the York bar, it extends from both ends so the grips are central and is absolutely rock solid when using the brackets supplied.Also supplied are two rubber anchors which are less obtrusive when screwed into the frame - I'm using them lower down the doorframe for inverted rows. They're not quite as solid as the brackets but there's no chance of the bar coming loose provided you extend it tightly onto them. I haven't tried attaching the bar without anchors or brackets but I wouldn't recommend it unless it it's only for situps.The foam grips are comfortable and I've had no problems with the bar rotating or loosening (be sure to cinch it up tightly). Overall, it's a bargain and I have no problems recommending it.

Installed this in around 10 minutes on a suitable door frame, came with two different fixing methods, I went for the 3 screws one as I thought it would be more secure.No instructons came with the bar but there isn't a lot too it really, three screws on either bracket then twist the central section to expand into the space!Feels very sturdy when using and quick to remove if required, great value for money.

It came with no instructions so I had to figure out how to install it (it should be pretty self explanatory right, but I struggled, maybe I was having a slow day). Anyway, once I did have it installed (without any of the screws at that), I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy it was (and how unfit I am, what was I thinking buying this?). The concept of the 'no screws' thing did concern me a bit, but it hasn't been a worry at all. Been using the item daily for about 2 weeks and it feels very sturdy. It took around 2 minutes to put up on the door frame. The item is well made enough.Only one possible issue. If you don't have particularly wide door frames then you'll find it difficult to do wide grip pull ups. Its no real problem for me though. For the £6-7 I paid for it, it's great.

Worst thing I've ever bought on amazon, on the front of the packaging it says it can extend to 100cm, whilst on the back of SAME packaging it says do not use on frames wider than 89cm.There are no instructions with this bar which you would think you wouldn't need anyway due to the simplicity of the theory behind putting one of these things up but due to the way it expects you to tighten it onto the door frame, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO GRIP WHATSOEVER, I hoped that I did in fact have some instructions...Take a look at the picture of this product... take a good look right now and ask yourself how you would fasten this to the door frame using only the bar itself and your hands.... yes that's right, you have to fasten it using only your hands and the chrome bar (which is extremely slip-prone). There is absolutely no other way to tighten it, no nuts on either side which allows the use of spanners to secure the equipment.. what you see in the picture is exactly what you get, nothing else... only a box which contradicts its own limitations and pre-requisites..Even with the screws screwed into the wall it can still only be fastened with your hands... which makes it completely insecure.I must have received a different item from the rest of the guys who written these reviews because what I received in the post today, cannot in any way be fastened with no screws.

The bar itself is plenty sturdy, let down by very poor fixings and no lock off once sized, easily overcome by using decent screws to fix it and strong tape to prevent it loosening under constant use.No better or worse than most of this others bars of this type, not mega money so a perfectly acceptable choice with a few simple mods.

This for the price is an brilliant bit of kit. Used various door pull up bars and spent alot more on them. This is sturdy, tightens at BOTH ends so you feel secure and took about a minute to fit. Door still closes and you can leave it up unlike the over door frame ones that I personally feel damage your door and are a bit unsafe. Great delivery and packaging and would not hesitate to recommend.

I bought this to do exercises at home and installed it on my door. However, after using it for about 2 minutes, it fell off leaving a huge mark on the door even though I had secured it tightly. The same thing kept happening and eventually decided to return it. You get what you pay for, I recommend getting a better quality one!
