I had to read the pattern a couple of times but once I got use to it I found it easy to follow

I've knitted the cardigan and blanket, both turned out lovely.

Several very confusing typos do I had to adapt as I went along. First time this has happened with Sirdar patterns and would have been confusing for a beginner.

Easy to follow

With my partner spurred on to knit after an absence of many years thanks to a first grandchild this was an ideal pattern for the new baby when obtained three years ago - and now with a niece also on the way the long autumnal evenings again echo to the sound of clicking knitting needles. As someone who wouldn't know one end of a knitting needle from the other my observations are around my partner's relaxed demeanour after a day's work, with the sense of achieving something both worthwhile and therapeutic helping to ease away the day's tensions - much better than just filling time watching TV! It certainly appears to be a good hobby as the nights draw in.My partner's observations are probably more pertinent - she found the pattern easy to follow, and being such a small size for a newborn was able to rattle up a set of baby jacket, hat, blanket, mittens and booties in double quick time, with the proud grandmother eventually making several sets in different colours. She states that you require size 8 and 10 needles. The fit when first tried on was good and baby certainly looked warm, toastie and wrapped up warm against the excesses of winter. The pattern caters for babies of different sizes, including premature ones so the ability to adjust based on the baby's weight is an excellent feature, as is the pattern simplicity which means items can quickly be rattled off depending on need.Price wise at just £4.32 with free delivery thrown in this pattern is great value for money and soon pays for itself with savings made on shop-bought baby clothes. I like that the front picture clearly shows what the items should look like and act as a good guide. I particularly like that you aren't just paying for a pattern for one item and have to buy a set as a result, as well as giving complete flexibility to make as many or as few of each item as required. My partner certainly got a lot of satisfaction completing the items in this pattern the first time around and has those same warm feelings this time around.
